On Tuesday September 18th, British designer Duro Olowu showed his second-ever runway collection during London fashion week. The Nigerian-born designer created a collection of bell-sleeve trapeze dresses, gingham blouses, busy prints, ruffled necklines, and jade, jade, jade. The collection was pulled together nicely and very consistent, but the clashing prints on some items aren’t for everybody and it’s more likely the nicely tailored jackets and pants will sell to a wider audience.

Olowu began his career in fashion as the owner of a Portobello Road store and then as the designer of a single dress, a patchwork print number. For spring, Olowu was inspired by “the colors of the great jewels of the maharanis of India, the Baroda pearls, emeralds, and rubies.”
