With Spring 2008 Fashion Week officially over, the rumors of the change of location for future seasons have been officially confirmed as untrue. Talks of a new location for Fashion Week filtered throughout organizer circles this year, but the contract confirms that the semiannual event will continue at the easy-access, Bryant Park location. IMG has signed a contract to continue pitching up the Fashion Week tents in New York's Bryant Park until 2010. Though some residents of the city have expressed dissatisfaction and objections at the bi-annual event's location--simply because it is not open to the public, but takes place in a public park to host exclusive events and extra-large crowds--the Mayor has decided to keep Fashion Week running in its traditional spot.
Fashion Week has been held at Bryant Park since 1993--except for one season at Chelsea Piers that proved to be a disaster--but many fashion designers are already making attempts to showcase collections at other buildings throughout New York.
