Last Saturday, James Perse opened his eighth retail location on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills forecasting that this area will soon be the hottest shopping destination for young shoppers. With a mission to “grow the upscale luxury component of his business” the 4,500-square-foot store required a $70 million investment, the company’s largest retail budget ever. The Canon Drive space will carry an exclusive group of monochromatic pieces from his newest collections.
These collections include a luxury line of silk-blend tees retailing between $95 and $120, cashmere sweaters from $400 to $1,100, plus home bedding, children’s clothing, swimwear and intimates. Most of other Perse’s retail locations are on the west coast except for one small spot on Bleeker Street in Manhattan. And just when you thought that eight might be enough–his next plans include an expansion of the Malibu store and a brand new spot in Easthampton, New York.
