Designer Lela Rose’s shoe/handbag collection for Payless has launched and is available in stores and online now. Texas-bred Lela Rose graduated from Parsons in 1993. After graduation, Rose worked for Richard Tyler before starting her own line in 1996. Rose says of her work, “My philosophy of design is about creating beautiful, hand finished clothes that exude a casual luxury and refinement.” Rose’s clothing is sold at luxury retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, but you can find Rose-designed items at a much, much cheaper price at good ol’ Payless. Highlights of the line include a pair of Victorian-inspired ankle boots for US$40. Keep reading for another of our faves.

These girly T-strap pumps are only $30. While the line isn’t as expensive-looking and varied as Abaeté’s line for Payless, it shows that the store is headed in a new direction and slowly becoming a shopping destination of choice for fashion-loving women with thin wallets. To shop Lela Rose for Payless visit Payless stores or payless.com.
