Find out all the hottest fall trends with this video interview and Want It! photo shoot on YouTube with the Women’s director of fashion for Saks Fifth Avenue, Michael Fink. This fall and winter are all about looking poised, polished and put-together–very body conscious, Fink says. It’s all about pretty pumps, precise tailoring, plush knitwear, and the perfect handbag. Long and lean suiting showing off your curves is the look of the season with the one-inch skinny as the must-have belt.
Accessories are very monochromatic–scrunched-down gloves, little bag, and dark leg. But medium-sized handbags get spiced up with spikes or stud detail. For jewelry, the big gold chains, especially in Rose Gold, are back, layered neatly around the neck. Jewelry is all about color for fall with lots of rings and bangles in gold, silver, and pewter. Shoes right now are much more aggressive. Gone are the chunky heels and platforms–your shoes should be clean looking, the perfect pump, especially in black patent leather. The most important shoe for fall is the shoe bootie cutting off at the ankle in lace Oxford or zipper.
The total look for fall is all about shine–metallic, patent leather, pewter, burnished gold, and copper. Lame, a shiny blouse underneath a suit or cardigan is perfect for daytime shine to update that suit. For evening, expect to see lots of sequins, colored stones, and big, chunky crystals.
When the weather gets colder, the knitwear styles are lightweight, textured, old-fashioned cable, and over-sized tunics with skinny pants. Cardigans should be short for daytime, but for night, look for long and flowy cardigans, which go perfectly over a precious dress.
The mood this season is one of empowerement–a little tough and aggressive. The outerwear consists of patent-leather coats, shiny leather jackets over shiny sequins. The cape, though, is especially big for fall as a great layering option with a slim skirt or pant.

I don’t think your link is working correctly for this?
Hmm, sorry, I don’t know why it didn’t work for you. But I added the video instead of the image, so that should definitely work… Thanks!
