I thought I would do a little research on the best self-help fashion books, and as you would have guessed, there are too many to name. But based on reader reviews, one that seemed to stand out amongst the rest is Lloyd Boston's "Before You Put That On", a collection of 365 tips for women. Each day Lloyd shares a tip that will help you make the most of your personal style using clothes that are most likely already hanging in your closet. Boston offers tips about what garments suit your body type, how to hide flaws, outfits that take you from day to night and how to bring life to items you believe are passe.
Lloyd also encourages readers to organize their closet so getting dressed becomes quick and painless. Most reviewers raved about one thing--that Boston actually offers specific outfit construction ideas rather than pushing you to do the work. So I guess if you're looking for a year-round fashion consultant and can't afford it (who can!) you should settle on Before You Put That On for $20.07. At that price it's certainly worth the read.
