Not your grandmother's shapewear - Hanes Smooth Illusions Go Figure

The Catwalk Queen girls have put together a
video on the various shapewear options out there to help you pull of the body concious and bandage dress looks from the runway, and we've got further recommendations on what's available in the states. If you're not familiar with shapewear (you must be naturally lythe) it's basically body slimmers and shapers that are the modern solution to the corset and girdle. We'd like to tell you it's more attractive than a girdle, but if you're expecting any decent amount of slimming or support, that's just not the case. But, we can say that most of these products are pretty comfortable, so that's something. Keep reading for specifics.
Spanx are one of the most popular modern brands of shapewear are available everywhere - department stores, several Web sites, even QVC, but CQ talks about getting them at Figleaves.com. Now, when I tried Spanx before, I found them a little more constricting than I'd prefer, but if you're just looking for a thigh-slimming short, they've a very good option.
Then CQ gets into some options only available in the U.K. so we found Hanes Smooth Illusions Go Figure for a budget-friendly option. Not every store that sells Hanes t-shirts is going to sell their Smooth Illusions products, but we know that Macy's does in the hosiery department. A waist smoother will run about $18 but be warned that if you're shorter, this is going to go all the way down to your knees despite the fact that it isn't the thigh-slimming version, so it won't be compatible with shorter skirts.
