Last night at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, there was quite an array of flashy sequined and jeweled dresses from black to silver to gold. Alicia Keys looked very sexy in a little black and gray sequined and beaded dress with patent leather criss-cross straps in the back. Ashley Tisdale dazzled the red carpet in a just-below-the-knew silver sequin number, and Vanessa Hudgens was radiant in a gold sequined dress with cuff and box clutch to match. Carrie Underwood no longer looking like the small-town country girl, looks stunning in her short white floral- and jewel-embellished halter dress. She looks so elegant and chic with her hair up and makeup done beautifully. Melanie Brown also looks very hot, although not to the same degree, in a white beaded dress with silver sequined Christian Louboutin pumps. I’m not so sure about Rihanna‘s black and silver jeweled halter dress, though–it’s not very flattering. It makes her hips look wider than they actually are.

Other hot little numbers hit the red carpet like Fergie‘s very cute mini halter dress–and I love her hair! Queen Latifah looked super haute in a low-cut leopard print dress, and Stylist Bobbie Thomas was adorably stylish in a black tube top with wide white satin belt and white jeweled and feathered skirt.

There were a few long gowns spotted as well. Ashanti was dolled up in a floor length canary yellow gown with a train and jeweled empire waist. Beyonce wore a beautiful gold mermaid halter dress that of course accentuated her bust. All in all, the theme of the night was definitely bright and shimmering.
