My dilemma springs up the in the shoe category. I'm having a hard time finding gold heels that are flirty and fun--but not too streetwalker. What are some affordable to semi-affordable options?
p.s. I can totally swing it to Bruno Jamais

What to wear: Hm, I am wearing a dark charcoal gray velvet dress to an upcoming formal. In some lights, it has a green sheen. Other times, totally normal gray. What color tights? Bag? Should I stick to black or go out on a limb and try and find some dark green ones?
Thankssss!

Hi! My dilemma has to do with the weather. Where I live, it's been freezing/ultra-windy/raining/even snowing. So what's a girl to do? I'm not a big fan of tights, to be honest, and I don't want to have to wear a bulky coat that takes away my shape. (P.S. I wouldn't be able to make it to Bruno Jamais.)

My dilemma has to do with finding the right shoes. I've already got a couple of short, sequined cocktail dresses for holiday parties and New Year's Eve. I'm sure they'd look great with strappy heels - the problem is that I'll be attending all these parties with a boyfriend who's a few inches shorter than me. I rarely wear high heels when I'm out with him, and especially not on these nights - I want to be able to dance and canoodle with him comfortably, not be looming over him all night! So I need to find some flat shoes that are glamorous enough to wear with shiny party frocks.

I have a big wardrobe problem that I have searched endlessly through online shops and regular malls to find...I have 2 gorgeous dresses, a Aqua Nicole Miller strapless cocktail and a Bebe Leopard Print crinkcle maxi dress...both are super dressy and would perfectly suit a warm summer night, but it's winter and they are both brand new so I want to sport them out.
I don't want a big coat to hover over them, but instead want a very simple, very elegant Black Satin Shrug. I only seem to be finding colored ones, or ones that are cotton, or ones that button or tie in the middle. I need to find one that is just the sleeves and ends right at your shoulders, (just covering arms and that doesn't connect in the middle).

...to finding the perfect match to my perfect dress:)
Help!

I recently finsished sewing a super cute 50's style wool dress. It is tan with thin straps, a subtle plaid pattern and an adorable bow. It's informal, and I am having trouble finding the perfect shoes to match it. Strappy heels would definately not go, and I'm not a huge fan of round-toed pumps, which I am sure would. Are there any affordable heels/flats/boots that you think would make the outfit? I'm dying to get my hands on a pair of ankle boots, but the dress is very form fitting so they would have to be very simple for me to pull them off. Any help is greatly appreciated !!
(and I would unfortunately not be able to make it to Bruno Jamais)

Being thin and tall looks good on the runway models, but for me, a high school senior in Ohio… it makes shopping a tad difficult, even when I get help from the store I model for. I know what to accent on my body, my long legs. Unfortunately, my town seems to get more rain and snow then Seattle and I really cannot show off my best assets when trying to walk through slush and puddles. I try to wear heels everyday to school but by the end of the day I’m ready to shoot myself for wearing the Chinese Laundry pumps instead of my tried and true tennis shoes. I desperately need to find a way to show off my best assets that fits both my cold climate and my high schools really strict dress code. The dress code does not allow skirts and/or slits higher than mid-thigh, and for me that looks a lot shorter than the girls I tower over in flats who can wear the same length skirt…and not get in trouble. Since European fashion always seems to be so avant garde compared to what is worn in my high school, the staff at Shiny Style can help me be stylish, warm and school appropriate.

Hiya, my dilemma is what to wear to a work Christmas party! I work for a media company and while I usually wear low cut dresses etc I want to find something a little more suitable - ie less cleavage but still glam and feminine - for my work do. We're going to a champagne bar followed by a restaurant. Help!

I can't decide what to wear to the Christmas work party. I work at a law school but I'm the P.R. person, not faculty, so I can be a little less conservative But this is my first Christmas party since I was hired. From what I can tell, the attire ranges from jeans to festive sparkles.

I would unfortunately not be able to make it to Bruno Jamais.

My wardrobe dilemna has to do with accessories. I'm not big about following fashion "rules," but I've always wondered whether my bag and shoes should match. What do you think?

My wardrobe dilemma has to do with my diminutive size. I have to tailor every pant and dress to make sure that nothing drags on the ground! It's something I've gotten used to over the years but puts more of a strain on my time and budget. For once I want something to fit perfectly, I'm sure I would feel like Cinderella =)

my dilemma is that my closet is that in the past, i've often bought clothes / accessories that were cheaper but lower quality, and have never really thought of clothing as an investment. these prizes would make a great start for a better wardrobe!

would def be able to make it to nyc as well.

I have some nice clothes for winter, but not for winter activities. How do I stay cute, warm and dry in a snowball fight without messing up my leather boots and wool coat?

Dilemma Numero Uno: I am a very curvacious woman.. Curvy meaning 36DD curvy. What are some tips to downplay the boobs and accentuate the waist.

Also, What are some Winter must-have closet staples?

I can def go to Bruno Jamais *BK Represent*

My wardrobe dilemma has to do w/ my body type too! I have pretty built shoulders left over from years of being an athlete and a large chest (inverted triangle shape). How do i find jackets and blazers that fit properly and make the size look proportional, not like I'm wearing shoulder pads?? I love my black cashmere cardigan but I find myself wearing it almost every day layering through the winter months.

I can go to Bruno Jamais! :D

Ok, once and for all, what is the final word on bare legs in winter (everywhere but the west coast). To a formal event, wearing a gorgeous dress, in January....stockings? I know the whole hupla about tights, but they make their own fashion statement. And I am not asking from a place that wants to be warm, because I will do a lot for fashion, including walking around at 1am, in the snow, in a short dress and bare legs!

My biggest dilemma is trying to look great on a budget. Right now we are tight on money because I will be having shoulder surgery and will be out of work for the month of February. We take ballroom dancing lessons and have a big party to go to for New Years. I haven't had an occasion to really dress up for a long time... and now that I do I can't afford to do it with the style I would like to. Could you give me some advice on a few pieces that I could get to glam up my existing wardrobe?

Posted by: Andrea Osiek | December 11, 2007 5:09 PM

My wardrobe dilemma is that I love things that are fashionable or nice, especially with shoes and scarves, but then I end up being too shy to wear them to work. My work is very casual so if I wear something 'trendy' or 'polished' it would stand out - and I get nervous about getting a lot of attention, either good or bad! :/ I try not to resort to 'safe' clothes but I still do!

I cannot make it to Bruno Jamais.

Current dilemma: it's December but I live in Florida, the land of perpetual sweltering heat, so I must wear pretty much the same thing I wear all year long...like a uniform, almost.

Dilemma: This year, I dropped 30 pounds and want to show off my new and improved physique - but at a very blue collar family New Year's Eve party. (Think champaign + children + board games + grandparents + a few snooty relatives I only see once a year.) Any ideas on how to be effortlessly glamorous without looking showy or stuck up?

Posted by: Sarah | December 14, 2007 8:21 PM

Ooops!!! Forgot to mention that I would be unable to make it to Bruno Jamais ... though it looks fantastic!

Thanks for the advice on my new year's attire... I commented on the outfit on the post... beautiful and just what I need!!!

My dilemna is I haven't found anything to wear for my 3 year anniversary getaway!! I'm a size 12, and can never find any fitting clothes that show off the success of losing weight. Any ideas for clothing that are romantic/sexy and would compliment my body?

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!! :)
