Everyone's a shoe designer; update on Diane von Furstenberg and Natalie Portman

One is famous for designing clothes, one is famous for the chic, ethical choices she makes in clothes (oh yeah, and being an A-list actress); but both Diane von Furstenberg and Natalie Portman are trying their hands for the first time at creating full lines of shoes for spring. New pictures of both lines have recently been popping up online.
First up, on the left, is Diane von Furstenberg's gold Provence heel. The wide, ribbon-like straps are one of my favorite things on evening shoes right now. They seem to take strappy heels to a more modern place.
It seems the designer and president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America is extending the comfortable, sexy aesthetic she's famous for in her clothing line to the footwear project as well.
"I wanted to create power shoes for the woman on-the-go and on her feet," von Furstenberg told Fashion Week Daily. "My shoes are not just pretty accessories; they are functional and serve a purpose. Women on-the-go need power, comfort, and fashion."
More photos of DVF's line, and Natalie Portman info and images after the jump.

The Pava pewter heel, left, and Molto sandal, right, are part of Diane Von Furstenberg's spring shoe collection hitting stores in February with prices ranging from $195 to over $400.

Natalie Portman's vegan shoe collection for Te Casan will be available for pre-order on January 15.
“As a vegan, it's been challenging finding designer shoes made of alternative materials,” Portman said on Elle.com. “It's the perfect opportunity to design high-end footwear free of animal products.”
The shoes will be offered in a limited edition because, like all of Te Casan's shoes, they are all hand-crafted. The collection delivers to stores February 1 with a price point around $200. That's much less than Stella McCartney's cruelty-free shoes, of which Portman is a fan.
