After being named a CFDA/Vogue fashion fund top ten finalist but missing the top prize, Subversive Jewelry has finally broken through as a winner in the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation awards. Not only did Justin Giunta’s jewelry earn the label a slot among the seven winners, the designs earned it the title of the first ever accessories winner in the Ecco Domani competition. Designers win $25,000 toward the presentation of their collections at New York Fashion Week, so we’re not sure where Subversive Jewelry will get to spend its prize. But we hope it goes towards more designs like this double strand pearl necklace, $560.

Even if you’re not that into jewelry, time spent perusing the “drawers” on the Subversive Jewelry Web site featuring collections like goth, sunken treasure, and subversive garden is time well spent.
