Heidi Klum, Helen Mirren, Anne Hathaway, and Katherine Heigl don red for the Oscars
Red was definitely the stand-out color on the red carpet, and the dresses were so different that each of the ladies really stood out as well.
Heidi Klum was one of the first out of the gate in a dramatic Galliano gown. Maybe either the collar or the big train would have been enough, both together seem a little bit much. But Heidi carries it off regally.
Speaking of regal, Helen Mirren wore a beautiful Georges Chakra gown with lovely embroidered sleeves.
Anne Hathaway has to be my favorite of the evening. She wore a Marchesa dress that she described as "diaphanous" and her whole look really came together. She also was one of the first red carpet nods to the florals we saw for spring that will obviously be continueing into fall judging by the latest collections.
And, finally, Katherine Heigl was a presenter and red carpet straggler in another red gown which was plain and figure-hugging with a one-shoulder detail.
