Hot off the runway: Lela Rose for Payless shoes

When Lela Rose sent her "sporty cocktail" fall 2008 collection down the runway at New York Fashion Week, she wasn't just showing off the clothes. On the models feet were designs from Lela Rose's fall 08 shoe collection for Payless, her fifth exclusive line for the mass retailer.
A tote bag given out at the show read "I Heart Shoes," and Rose says she loves shoes "because even one new pair can bring life to any wardrobe."
Most of the shoes in this collection should be under $45 and will be available in Payless stores in August.
What do we think? If we were objectively judging the shoes walking down the runway as compared to any other runway show, we'd say they were a bit plain, and a bit low-heeled. But, if we were comparing them to any other shoes on the shelves of Payless, or what we think of as Payless style, we'd say their definitely much chicer and worth the low, low sum to get your hands on some Lela Rose.
