New York Fashion Week: Lela Rose
Lela Rose seems to have taken a cue from the way real women are beginning to dress when she focused on a "sporty cocktail" vibe for her fall collection. Instead of responding to a more casual woman with tracksuits and velour, she integrated outerwear shapes like parkas, anoraks, and racer back details into cocktail attire. Colors of mallard green, cardinal red, and goldfinch came down the runway that also offset the sporty vibe.

Given Lela Rose's focus on this sporty silhouette, I was impressed the collection pulled off such a feminine, elegant look. Sheer fabrics continued to dominate the runway, with womanly shapes coming through billowy silhouettes.
