America’s Next Top Model was actually kind of clever this week with how they took the girls to a fire department to show the art of the “quick change” that models have to do backstage at a fashion show.

Fatima didn’t get her (pretty cute!) shoes on in time, and her walk was really bad, but I was consistently struck by how good she looks since her makeover every time she was on camera.

Katarzyna (the runway challenge winner who got to do her own photo shoot for Lot 29) and Claire have two of my favorite walks from the runway teach as well as the later runway competition.

But they were the only ones I liked. The girls really haven’t been taught too much yet, so their walks are still rough and definitely have their own style. When that’s good, that’s good. But when it’s bad, it’s baaaaad.

Maybe it’s because I don’t eat red meat, but I really didn’t like the photos from this shoot. I don’t think the girls took full advantage of the contrast opportunities between being beautiful models wearing ugly raw meat.

Maybe they just don’t have those skills yet, but usually there are a few naturals in the bunch.

I liked Whitney (above) and Lauren’s photos the best, and it’s a good thing since they’re two of the worst at runway. The judges must have really liked Whitney’s photo since she was chosen second.

I was pleased that Fatima and Amis were both at the bottom of the pack this week, because they’re both really annoying. I actually feel like Amis might have been able to do more if she stayed, but Fatima definitely has more of a model look.

And how could they possibly have allowed Amis to stay and represent them and possibly Covergirl when she showed up to panel looking like that? She has to meet them in the middle in terms of keeping her personality and looking appropriate.
