Betsey Johnson's spring dresses are all about patterns with polka dots and checks galore.
The gingham cotton lycra flare dress, $285, looks a little like something Paris Hilton would have worn on The Simple Life. But Betsey is nothing if not humorous and a bit kitsch, so you could totally run with that concept. We would recommend ditching the strings and making this dress strapless.
For a flattering fit and a summer dress that won't make you feel like you have to have a tan to pull it off, this polka dot stretch cotton poplin slip dress, $275, is very cute.
The strawberries on charmeuse strapless babydoll dress, $335, is a young look, so be careful how you style it for fear of looking too cutesy. It's also weird that this is the most expensive dress, since it's probably the cheapest looking and most likely to be easily copied at Forever 21.
Since we love Betsey's ads, we've included her artist's rendering of the dresses below just in case you want some styling ideas!
