America’s Next Top Model finalists Fatima, Anya, and Whitney went head-to-head for the title tonight.
Aftrican American Fatima, blonde Hawiian Anya, and full-figured Whitney might be the most diverse final three ANTM has featured. Each one could appeal to Seventeen and to CoverGirl in a different way.
So who won? Keep reading.
Everyone did so much better on their commercial when it was in English! It was also a much easier commercial, with less acting involved, but still it seemed like pieces of any one of their performances could have been used in a real ad.
Anya’s nerves seemed to be getting to her, and she broke down a bit before the shoot, but pulled out a really natural, effervescent performance. Fatima just kept talking about how much she wanted this and how great she was and how far she had come, which seemed a bit like the producers may have been prepping the audience for her win. Whitney probably had the most even performance – her great moments weren’t that great, but her bad moments weren’t that bad either.
It seemed like Whitney might have an advantage during the beauty shot photo shoot, since everyone’s always telling her “she has a beautiful face.” (Which is, you know, what you tell full-figured girls.) And it turned out to be true, she definitely had the most beautiful photo.
Last year’s winner Saleisha made a lot of appearances, and already seems to be doing better in pre-recorded spots than she was in the beginning of the season.
Fatima was inspired by having the past winner on set, but it didn’t end up pushing her to be her best. Her commercial was definitely the weakest, and her photo failed to wow the judges and she was the first girl to go home.
Next up was the runway show, which tellingly wasn’t a “Versace runway show” but an “America’s Next Top Model fashion show with Versace clothing.” Perhaps it’s because there wasn’t a fashion week handy during filming, but it was disapointing to see the girls in a faux show and not a real one.
Both girls first walks were cringe-worthy. Anya was a bit dead, and swung her arms too much. But her arm swinging was nothing compared to Whitney’s big bounce. The second time around, Anya looked a little more natural but didn’t know how to handle her slim skirted dress. Whitney’s bounciness behooved her in the short floaty frock that followed.
There was definitely some unfriendly fire between Tyra Banks and Paulina Porizkova. Porizkova seems to really hate Whitney – trying to keep the modeling gigs inside the skinny sorority perhaps?
Porizkova can poo poo her all she wants, but full-figured Whitney took the top prize! It was really exciting to see a model with some curves make it through to the end, even if the industry may not be as forgiving. Whitney is very CoverGirl-esque and will look beautiful on the billboard in Times Square.
I am very happy that Whitney won. She represents alot of beautiful full-figured women and she is so determined. I sickens me sometimes to see these models that are soooooo skinny. Its nice to see a real woman with curves modeling in the industry. One of the best womens ANTM has chosen.
Congrats to Whitney!!! It’s about time a REAL woman won America’s Next Top Model. We need to stop labeling her plus size and come to the realization that this is the everyday woman and she is gorgeous. Finally!!!!
Give me a break. Whitney looked sloppy on the runway. She was picked from the beginning because there’s no way she earned the title.

Heyy i loved whitney from the start but the only thing is that she isn’t going to get to even model because she isn’t tiny. i do love that she won, i just feel bad for her. beautiful face tho.
There’s “regular” people who are skinny too. Not all thin people are anorexic, you know. As a thin person, I get a little sick of the backlash.
I was so happy to see Whitney win. She is the real size of the average American woman, an 8-10. That is not plus size. She was the prettiest one as well. Her catwalk was perfect; even though she did have her fake moments.I don’t know many size 2 women. It’s time America starts to be realistic about how REAL women look. We are not supermodel size. The American media has exploited the way women should look, and it’s a bunch of b.s. Whitney is perfectly healthy. She is a great role model of what a healthy woman should look like. Young women should aspire to be healthy. That’s it. Let’s start here. Whatever your size, embrace yourself, but you need to be healthy. WAKE UP America and turn on the lights. Whitney is the REAL DEAL!
Whitney should not have won. I know Tyra wants to be versatile but let’s be real and FAIR… as a whole throughout the entire show, Anya was the best..PERIOD. I’m so disappointed in Tyra. Won’t be watching next season.

Hey people I watch the show since they started airing it in 2003. I would just like to state that this show is an eye opener with respects to images and what society see’s as beautiful or what they feel about what men and woman should look like. The show is great to watch and I watch it when I can but, it continues to show that women need to be stick thin to be beautiful and sexy, which is wrong because if you go back to all the shows, it’s all stick, stick thin girls who have been chosen as contestants, and Tyra Banks states she is representing women all races, shapes and sizes, yah rite. Anyhow i would like to end this by stating that Whitney is not plus size, a size 10 is still thin for her height, so come on people she is not plus size. I am a size 10 and I’m 5’9, I’ve been told I’m thin for my height. So again these images and comments about Whitney being a plus size model, I guess in the modeling industry she is, but realistically she’s healthy and just the right size. Whitney is also brained washed to think she is plus size, that is so wrong. People get with the program today. If Tyra bank went back into modeling she would be plus size, she looks like a 14 or 16 with all the weight she has gained, but again she looks pretty darn healthy.
If people would read…Whitney used to be a stick thin model, and ANTM approached her before the show and told her they wanted her to gain weight to be the representative for their “plus size” figure. She was picked to win before the season even began. She also started to lose a lot of weight towards the end of the show if you look and notice her from week 1 to the end. This season more than anything was fixed! ANTM is commercial, not high fashion like they pretend to be. A plus size can’t be couture and we hear it time again. Whitney had a piss attitude and didn’t deserve to win. But she is the most commecrial out of all of them. But regardless, a plus size model would never get me to buy the makeup or the clothes. I dont’ want to see a pudgy girl trying to sell me something to make me look good! Anya deserved to win, so hopefully she’ll get a better spot as runner up and won’t have to deal with covergirl bullshit anyways.

A real woman is someone that accepts their size for what it is, who doesn’t need to put down others to justify themselves and boost their own confidence. Its sad that the modeling industry has such unhealthy views on body image – I have seen some friends suffer to be apart of this industry. But saying that only certain type of women are “real”, and that its time for the world to wake up and see this, doesn’t change it.

Okay, Im the exact opposite. I dont think Whitneys fat at all…however, I dont think she was that pretty. They need to pick a girl thats a curvy, but pretty like kimora lee simmons, katherine heigl, etc. Whitney was not that pretty and her hair annoyed me. Im not saying it was staged. Im all for a normal size winning. And she had a great personality and an energy but Im sorry, she looked sloppy. I know a lot of curvy girls that are pretty and shes just not to me. Does anyone agree w/ me?

I think most of you are talking a lot of tosh. I think it was good that Whitney won, she was the only one with enough back-bone and versatility to win. Fatima was weak and annoying, while I would’t have minded Anya winning but she is not as easy on the eyes as Whitney. I am sure Whitney is likely to lose a little bit more weight and will definitely not be regarded as plus size. In addition, she has a wide bone structure and will never be a size 2 and not even a 4. The most important thing for all of you to realise that what makes a real woman is not just her size but character which will also determine how well you look after yourself. You can be a size 2 or size 12. Whitney is defintely not plus size as by definition plus size starts from 14 upwards.
