CFDA: guests honor Yves, council honors Costa, Ford, Burch
Even at the celebratory Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards last night, the memory of legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent was not far from the industry's mind.
Inspired by Saint Laurent's Le Smoking Suit and one of the night's winners, Ashley Olsen donned a Calvin Klein resort 09 tuxedo. Naomi Campbell topped that by wearing vintage YSL, and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg also wore the symbolic style including a vintage YSL jacket.
As for the evening's winners, top honors went to Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein Collection for womenswear, Tom Ford for menswear and Tory Burch for accessories. Kate and Laura Mulleavy won the emerging talent award in the womenswear category for their line, Rodarte.
"Tonight, we're here to celebrate American fashion," said Diane von Furstenberg. And celebrate they did. Guests included Victoria Beckham in and with Marc Jacobs, Eva Mendes with Francisco Costa, Hilary Duff with Michael Kors, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg with Carolina Herrera, and Anna Wintour.

Naomi's pants remind me of MC Hammer and his Hammer pants.
