Kristin Davis launches clothing line at Southern department store Belk
Junior Leaguers and southern belles who aspire to Charlotte York's feminine style are sure to be pleased by Kirstin Davi's new clothing line.
The Sex and the City star has partnered with Belk department stores, which is a staple retailer in the 16 southern states where it is located.
"I grew up shopping at Belk," said Davis, a Columbia, S.C., native. "It was the nicest store we had, and I'd save my allowance to go to Belk."
"[The line] really started in my closet, which for me is more exciting than going shopping and just seeing what already is available," Davis said. "I have these classic pieces I've have for six, 10 years that I hold onto."
Due to launch in August, the line will retail for $30 to $240 and include sportswear, activewear, sleepwear, handbags, jewelry, belts and footwear. It is expected to launch more categories for spring.
There will be A-line skirts, dresses, and blouses with feminine details in size 2 to 14.
Advertising such as print ads will run in regional and national fashion magazines, and Davis is expected to make in-store appearances throughout the fall.
