The MTV Movie Awards pride themselves on being different, younger, hipper, than the rest of the award shows out there and that attitude generally extends to the red carpet. From bright colors and short hemlines to kooky cutouts and zany accessories, bigger risks seem to be the order of the day.

Risk takers this year included Sarah Jessica Parker in this sparkly high-neck number and white ankle boots (her hair = hawt!); Lindsay Lohan in another bum-skimming frock - this time violet Dolce & Gabbana (and props to Li-Lo for stepping away from the fake tan bottle); Anne Hathaway getting all bad-ass on us in asymmetrical Sophia Kokosalaki; oh-so-pretty Liv Tyler, who is positively glowing in hot pink Lanvin; and a demure-looking Paris Hilton in white satin and black lace.
