We've set aside our stilettos (sometimes) but now our flip flops too?

Most of us think we're giving our feet a break when we slip on flip flops for a majority of the summer, but apparently we're wrong.
They're so comfy compared to our sky-high heels we like to wear our thong and flat sandals as often as we can, and that's the problem according to New York City podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong.
According to Dr. Zong, "a soft-soled shoe generally does not allow the foot to naturally roll from heel to toe since it generally has a softer midfoot - and the lack of support will generally cause more injury then good."

Flip flop wearers often suffer from heel pain, plantar fasciitis, or tendonitis of the various muscles of the foot because flip flops create more work for the foot and don't have the support your feet need.
Dr. Zong suggests limiting flip flop wear to a few hours a day, his same advice for stilettos.
He suggests a sneaker with a 1" to 2" heel but since most of us aren't going to trade in our cute shoes for cross trainers, we found the next best thing.
By now we know all about the Nike Air technology in a wide selection of Cole Haan shoes. We perused their styles for a cute and comfortable sandal we can wear instead of our flip flops or high heels so we're in perfect shape for long walks on the beach (and in the mall!).
These Air Paisy sandals are even on sale for $119.95.
