Fall 2008 Couture: Christian Dior

While Jean Paul Galliano's confections for Christian Dior Couture are always going to signify fantasy to millions of women, his Fall 2008 Couture collection was actually a bit more grounded in reality than usual. Sure there were sheer skirts and exaggerated corsetted waists and the usually bouffant ballgowns, seen above, but for the most part the collection was sophisticated and wearable. (You know, if you have a lifestyle conducive to Couture.) Maybe it's because one inspriation was the French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, quickly becoming the first lady of fashion as well.
