From our British bloggers at Catwalk Queen…
From London we head to Italy, where Roberto Cavalli opened Milan Fashion Week with his Just Cavalli spring/summer 2009 collection. Against a seascape backdrop, it was another unusual mix of leopard print, lace, leather and chiffon for the designer, but haven’t we seen this all before?

Unfortunately Cavalli’s patchwork dresses, belted bright cardigans, and neon leopard print swimsuits couldn’t help lift this collection. Too much of what we have come to expect from Cavalli (leopard print? yawn!) and not enough surprise, left behind a definite sense of deja vu. Having said that, his black and white photograph print of a woman transposed onto a halter-neck dress (above, far left) was divine, and something that he may have wanted to expand a little further.
