We found a terrific site for those who are as obsessed with period films and their costumes as we are, The Costumers Guide to Movie Costumes. One of Fashionista's Fashion Trivia commenters mentioned it.
While perusing the site we came across this link to the Royal Ontario Museum where there is a podcast about restoring a dress believed to be Marie Antoinette's.
Even if it is not the Queen's it is believed to be from that era and made by Rose Bertin, Antoinettes dress maker who earned the tongue-in-cheek designation of Minister of Fashion.
The video is super interesting if you've ever wanted to climb inside a display at the Costume Institute and look at beading and stiching on historical pieces up close!
