We were perusing the new Lounge Lover collection on Net-a-Porter today, and it kind of put us in mind of something we’ve seen before.
The Victoria’s Secret cotton and cashmere collection. We look forward to snuggling up in their cotton and cashmere wide-leg pant.
Which isn’t that different than Lounge Lover’s tessa pant, but the really similar items are the Victoria’s Secret cotton and cashmere sweater wrap and the Lounge Lover Tessa wrap cardigan.
But Lounge Lover’s wrap, which is 60% viscose, 35% nylone, 5% cashmere, is $200 while VS’s is $58 and it’s ostensibly all cotton and cashmere.
Who made this first? What justifies the $200 price tag on the Lounge Lover version? We’re all for paying more for cashmere of better quality, but only 5% cashmere? And our Moms understand the Victoria’s Secret catalog much better than Net-a-Porter, so we’re much more likely to get the VS version for Christmas.
