Hudson matched her sparkly green Pucci dress with green earrings and even green eye shadow. HD TV was not kind to the look, while it seems more stylish in these photos. The black tights and shoes were obviously a good choice with the statement-making sequin print.
She must have been worn out from the premiere and appearance, because she was much more laid back in jeans and a white shirt on Live With Regis and Kelly this morning.
We have long touted the leg-lengthening properties of the “nude” pump. The problem is, the color of beige we typically think of as nude only matches one skin tone.
It would be Christian Louboutin who provides the solution. Louboutin’s Simple Pump 85 comes in, yes, a nude version which is a light beige, but also several other colors which will match a whole range of skin tones. Click the link to see them all.
Ladies of any and all colors rejoice! There’s a leg-lengthening, skin-tone matching pump out there for you. And by the shoe master himself. Provided you can spend $575 to $725 on a pair.
In case you DVR’d Gossip Girl and weren’t inundated with commercials for Whitney Port’s new show, The City, here’s a little sneaky peak. Whitney talks to Teen Vogue about the show and how she’s liking living in New York City.
The New York Times yesterday skewered the show, and the whole Hills franchise, hilariously. Nonetheless we’re expecting it to be popular in the same way that the Hills is – earnestly with teens and ironically with fashion peeps and pop culture fiends.
Also of note: this year’s Miss Golden Globe is Rumer Willis. We’re not sure how we feel about star offspring who are actually kind of celebrities in their own right filling this position. Guess awards shows need to do whatever they can to pull in the ratings.
Vera, DKNY and J. Mendel are all pretty much confirmed out for New York Fashion Week in the tents, with more designers announcing smaller presentations in showrooms and other venues every week.
But who’s actually showing in the tents? Anyone? Yes. IMG has finally released a partial list of designers for Mercedez Benz Fashion Week. Click through for the list.
As retailers, like the rest of us, enter 2009 with the recession on their minds WWD has compiled a list of businesses most likely to flail, or downright fail, in our new economic climate.
On the list?
Celebrity fashion lines: Lets face it, very few celebrities bring more than their names to the table when it comes to designing fashion lines. So when a retailer can make the same clothes on their own, and the draw of a famous name doesn’t offset the cost of procuring one, we’re going to see fewer “insert teen star here” for “insert mid- to low-priced retailer here.”
The first photo from the Daisy Lowe ad campaign for Marc by Marc Jacobs is now doing the rounds on the old internet (and is also highly likely to feature in a glossy mag near you) and so, of course, we had to have a nosy ourselves. Miss Lowe is putting her seductive Agent Provacateur modelling experience to good use in the snap, where she is clad in an ivory dress and heavy eyeliner while sprawled out on a bed decked in white linen.
Reviews have been mixed judging by the comments on The Fashion Spot forums, with some liking the minimalism of the Juergen Teller-shot campaign, and others disappointed the ads don’t spark the same sense of fun as past ads featuring M.I.A (for M by MJ) and possibly most famously, Victoria Beckham for mainline Marc Jacobs. I’m firmly on the fence with this one for some reason – I can’t seem to dredge up any feelings either way. But what do you think?
The New York Times has an interesting critique of Vogue magazine today which got us thinking, how relevant is Vogue today? Is it still the most relevant fashion magazine in print? And if so, does that mean much?
Cathy Horyn writes about the fact that Anna Wintour chose to print a letter to the editor in this month’s issue which accurately describes Vogue’s main problem – that it’s in a rut. The same cover girls and “muses” are recycled over and over, albeit with often fantastic writing, editing and photography.
So we’re wondering, internet and fashion-savvy blog readers that you are, do you still read Vogue magazine?
