With the likes of Kate Beckinsale, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson out in their best dresses last night, it's surprising that a virtual fashion unknown has made the headlines this morning. The name on everyone's lips is that of Lebanese designer Basil Soda, who stepped in at the last minute to dress Katy Perry when her alternative (custom-made) dress failed to live up to expectations. If the only star in one of his gowns last night was Paula Abdul, we probably wouldn't have gushed so much, but with Perry's pastel pink dress making all the best-dressed lists, this is one designer we're very excited about!
