Unlike the Barbie girls, these ’20s-inspired dollies were dropped on some God-forsaken playground in the ’80s and have been resuscitated a little worse for the wear to stomp the Diesel Black Gold runway.

Different styles and textures were layered and layered, then messed up a bit for an edgy look. But edgy edgy, not necessarily Diesel edgy. Silk with wool, leather with lace, tweed with denim – these looks hit all the right notes.

For all the layers, it seems designers couldn’t escape the bottom layer with garter-belt hems and lingerie elements playing a big part in the collection.
