After countless delays and months of setbacks, (“a logistical nightmare,” according to Sir Philip Green), we are now thismuchcloser to the opening of Topshop USA.
Not only that, Page Six reports that Kate Moss is expected to attend the grand opening on 1st April, at the flagship store in New York’s SoHo district.
It’s no surprise considering her collection is already being stocked and waiting for mass consumer assumption inside the store. Indeed, she gets her own special boutique, which will soon stock her new lingerie line.
Looks like the Real Housewives of New York City, left, won’t be the only Upper East Siders on Bravo soon. A film crew from Bravo was at a Lilly Pulitzer shopping event at the Upper East Side flagship.
WWD says the crew was filming for a “Gossip Girl”-like reality series tentitavely called “NY Prep” due out in the fall.
But, half the fun of scripted television is that characters can do alll sorts of things real life people wouldn’t do on camera, particularly while under contract with a television network which probably prohibits drug use and all the really juicy stuff.
When you’re in the mood for whimsy, Shana Logic’s online shop is the place to go. Browsing around the Punk Rock Sass category I found these awesome Ukiyo5 star hairclips, $10. Lurve, want, need, all that. The spiral backings allow you to simply twist into place and not worry about them falling out all night. That does of course mean they won’t actually do much in the way of clipping or holding hair. But when something’s this cute, who needs function?
Gossip Girl fashion infused with a little bit of rock ‘n roll? That’s my favorite style. So I’m all about the looks in this video from Ford Models TV, how about you? Making me want to wear my rnew ocker chic booties everywhere. Maybe I will.
The weekend brought with it the return of MTV’s newly-revived House of Style. The TV show, which had many of us glued to our screens in the late ’80s/early ’90s, has now partnered with Teen Vogue to bring us all latest from the world of fashion.
Starring Bar Rafaeli and Chanel Iman as co-hosts, the show’s weekend debut prompted mixed reactions from viewers, who felt it was too scripted and perhaps a little too geared towards the teen-set (erm… friendship bracelets, really?!). Here is a snippet from episode one, featuring Rafaeli interviewing Justin Timberlake on the eve of his New York Fashion Week show for William Rast. Click play on video above to watch.
Yeah, if you were afraid the cast of Gossip Girl was losing its hotness… check out a preview of their Rolling Stone shoot. (And Blair’s eye makeup in this week’s ep. Just sayin.) [Refinery 29]

I can’t believe this isn’t Edward Cullen, but I’m crushing on both cover subjects of V Magazine. [V Magazine]

It’s that time of the year again, when the nominees for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) Awards are announced.
This year, when the nominees were revealed, there was one name came up not once, not twice, but three times. Marc Jacobs has been nominated for the 2009 Womenswear Designer of the Year award, along with Narciso Rodriguez and Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
He is also in the running for Accessory Designer of the Year award, together with Vera Wang and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. And finally, he will receive the International Award for his work at Louis Vuitton.
Representing the “Shape issue” is Beyonce, who has been photographed by Mario Testino for the April ’09 cover of Vogue. It’s the second time this year that Anna Wintour has chosen a black woman for the cover (Michelle Obama was the first for the March ’09 issue). With the headline “Real women have curves, Beyonce at her best”, it’s great to see the 27-year-old land the cover, but might I casually remind Ms Wintour that real women come in all wonderful shapes, and not solely of the curvy variety.
This is unbelievable! Chaos erupted at the New York auditions for America’s Next Top Model on Saturday. The trouble began when a car overheated and blew smoke, causing someone to cry out “There’s a bomb!” This prompted thousands of model hopefuls to become trampled in a stampede and a fight breaking out amongst the crowd. Two women and a man were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and inciting a riot, and six women required medical attention. Others claimed bad organisation and the inability to leave the queue to go to the toilet and get food was also to blame. The audition was shut down, however neither Tyra Banks or ANTM reps have commented. Click play on video above to watch the chaos unfold.
@susiebubble called our attention to the April Dazed and Confused cover over on Twitter (follow me @ShinyAndrea). Lakshmi was photographed by Josh Olins in Dolce & Gabbana styled by Nicola Formichetti. The whole shoot is gorgeous and can be seen over on StyleBubble.
It’s true enough that any shoe seen to vary from traditional shoe shapes can be thought of as weird or too out there. So what about this one? Layered petal details over the heel and ankle, tied with a ribbon, seem a little out there. But who knows, these could be the shoes that define your summer wardrobe.
The first images from the upcoming U.S. version of Absolutely Fabulous have been released.
Back, but in slightly different forms, Eddie and Patsy have been revived in Los Angeles for 2009.
Starring 3rd Rock‘s Kristen Johnston as Patsy and Kathryn Hahn as Eddie, the FOX network hope that the actresses can pick up where Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley left off.
Despite obvious similarities (a.k.a. the crazy wardrobe, Patsy’s bouffant hair) the public response so far hasn’t been overly supportive, with the NY Post deeming it “neither Ab or Fab.”
It’s been a long, cold winter without our weekly dose of Gossip Girl heating up TV screens. But, fear not, the Upper East Siders return next week! To get you excited, check out the crave-worthy outwear Blair, Serena and – yes! – Georgina are wearing in New York! Oh, and some cute pics of the boys to heat things up in a different way.
Amy Adams and Emily Blunt get down and dirty for their roles in Sunshine Cleaning, but the pair cleaned up nicely at the LA premiere. (We wouldn’t wear that white Burberry suit while cleaning up crime scenes, Amy!) Blunt was definitely the more fashion forward in her Basil Soda dress, but both girls looked chic.
