Here’s a little taste of what Britney Spears fans are in for as her Circus tour kicks off in New Orleans tonight. No matter what you think of her music, it’s always fun to see what she’ll be wearing next. The costumes were created by design duo Dan and Dean Caten of DSquared, who have been busy reinterpreting clown, trapeze artist and juggler costumes into sexy looks for Spears and her dancers to get hot and sweaty in.

“It’s a a kind of metamorphosis from animal to ringmaster to slave, in keeping with the circus theme,” DSquared revealed. “She starts off with the cheetah-head, removes it to become the ring-master and lion-tamer, and then strips off the jacket to reveal a Swarovski-crystal corset, fishnets and thigh-high boots.”
The designers even appear in a show-opening video sequence. Now, on to Britney’s foray back behind the lense…
I’m not sure how this is going to help her comeback, but Britters has signed on to front the latest Candie’s campaign (pictured left).
