With internet fashion becoming so popular, it seems online fashion stores are launching faster than you can say Chanel.
However, we’ve completely fallen in love with this new internet shopping heaven, that popped onto web yesterday.
The Stellar Boutique is bursting full of one-off gems and includes, vintage, retro and high fashion pieces and includes designs from up and coming creators including Sugarhill Boutique (we love the butterfly dress, pictured) Lia Lee and Dahlia.
But it’s not just clothes, oh no, this site offers everything apart from the kitchen sink. Get your hands on home ware, accessories such as sun glasses, and menswear (perfect if you need to sweeten him up when he sees all your purchases.)
Handbags have always been one of my weaknesses, I refuse to stop buying them and refuse to give any away either.
And thanks to Suzi Smith I am now in need of going shopping again. The handbag designer has launched a range of brightly coloured pastel bags in quirky fun shapes, which will keep us going until the end of September (well with this designer anyway.)
Made from fabrics such as mottled snakes and shiny patents as well as frills, quilting, and bows, these bags can be used both during the day and night.
Well we think that’s a better excuse than any to get our hands on one of these.
It’s that time of the year again, festivals, barbeques and the X Factor.
Landing on our TV sets tomorrow, the show will be keeping us at home every Saturday, while we sit hooked, watching the singers and the outfits Cheryl will be wearing that week.
Now we can’t help with the singing but we can do something with the style. We’ve been given a sneak preview of one of Cheryl’s outfits and, as always, she looks disgustingly gorgeous.
We see what similar pieces there are out there on the high street and have a guess at the other styles she may be wearing this year.
We haven’t covered jewellery for a while on ShinyStyle and what better way to get the sparkly ball rolling again but with news of Swarovski’s new Autumn Winter 2009/2010 range.
The genius crystal creators have created the Evanescent range, which has given every day and timeless motifs a glamorous and of course sparkly makeover.
We love the key necklace, which the company says has been inspired by those used long ago to open caskets and jewellery boxes, and hangs off two intertwined gold and silver chains. This not only creates a boho look but is also perfect for those who can’t decide what colour jewellery to wear.
The Luck necklace symbolises love and has gold-plated pendants on a long chain. At the end of the chain is a cut-out gold-plated heart, a crystal arrow and an angel’s wing, which we assume, bring you luck.
Hmm wonder if I’ll be lucky enough to convince someone to buy me one of these.
The collection will be in stores from October for a limited time.
We’re not ashamed to admit that we love a little bit of Girls Aloud, especially their fun, flirty and sometimes saucy, fashion sense.
So when we spotted a picture of Sarah on the set of the new St Trinian’s film (yes there’s another one) wearing these boyish, rocker style boots we had to find out where they were from.
And we did just that. They’re from Cat Footwear and cost £124.99.
We love the fact they are flat yet funky meaning we can still look good without worrying about how to manage the ice in heels this winter. Team them up with leggings (well you might freeze in Sarah’s shorts) and a structured waistcoat for the ultimate winter look.
Now we’re pleased to see that Mischa Barton is looking healthier after her recent stint in a psychiatric hospital, and she’s most definitely making the most of it, with this sheer dress, minus a bra.
This takes me back to the days; well it must have been at least ten years ago, that the bra under a sheer top was the fashion must have.
I remember trying to sneak out of the house with my mother following me close behind waving a camisole (yes she called it that) and telling me to put it on to hide my modesty.
Now although this fashion has clung on by a sheer thread over the past few years, with designers always introducing at least one bra flashing garment, it seems that it’s getting bigger again.
Only recently were celebrities including Louise Redknapp and Victoria Beckham being snapped left right and centre flashing their bras. But does this look really say sophistication or do we risk making a boob of ourselves? Tell us what you think by voting below.
If you like your make up to be bold and beautiful then you’ll love the Illamasqua cosmetic collection range.
The two collections, inspired heavily by the shadows and monochromatic tones used in 1920′s Berlin art films, will be available from ASOS for six months (yes you have to be quick) from the end of the month.
Secret or wannabe mermaids will love the ‘Sirens collection, which is based on sea inspired colours such as aquamarines and shimmering bronzes. If you’re feeling brave you can also try the ‘liquid metal’ pigmented eye creams.
Flapper style queens will also love the ‘Dystopia collection, which has been inspired by the cult 1920′s film actress Pola Negri. The collection provides cosmetics to recreate her signature look of long arched brows (not too much though please girls) and dark eyes shaded with long lashes. Eye shadows come in vivid shades of purple or sultry smoky greys.
For those ladies that have not been blessed with long lashes, the company’s ‘Sirens’ false lashes will more than give you a helping hand.
I’ve always been a fan of Sienna Miller’s dress sense ever since she came into the forefront of my fashion mind with her boho look many moons ago.
And if I’m honest, I’m also a bit envious; she gets it right all the time. So it will come as no surprise to you, that once again she has managed to pull off a trend, which a few other celebs may have struggled with, and that’s the brogue shoe.
Although these have been lurking quietly in the fashion aisle for a good few months now, we think they will be making a fully fledged fashion journey down the high street this season. Now we can’t give you Sienna’s lifestyle but we can you the top brogue buys on the high street.
Now we love handbags, pink, silver, black you name it we want it. So imagine our delight when we heard about this, which we (grudgingly) thought we’d share with you.
If you haven’t been lucky enough to get your hands on one of the exclusive eel skin bags and purses from London designer Heidi Mottram – now is your chance.
Heidi will be selling her end of lines, excess stock, seconds and samples at huge discounts at Sunday UpMarket in the Old Truman Brewery every Sunday in September.
Now we plan to be camping out from the night before but for everyone else the sale starts at ten , and yes we are trained in the art of handbag sale fighting (think the Friends episode with the discount bridal wear.)
Now I know I should stay away from tights and brightly coloured ones at that, after my past fashion faux pas, which I admitted to you last week.
However, this week, we couldn’t resist telling you about Pixie Geldof’s new fashion look, bought on by flamboyan designer Henry Holland.
The up and coming fashion fellow has designed a collection of hosiery for Pretty Polly, which launched this week at Selfridges. And celebs, including Pixi Geldof and Agyness deyn are already covering their pins in his designs made from sheer and opaque fabrics.
These include his trademark purple, with a cream rhinestone-encrusted band around the thigh and mid calf, and a style he’s christened the “moc stock” which looks like a pair of stockings but is in fact a far more practical pair of tights.
The tights are a leg hugging £10 per pair. They are available from Selfridges now and nationwide from September.
However, for those that can’t get to the store or can’t wait that long we’ve put together a range of other alternatives, after all we can’t deny any longer that the tights season will be soon upon us, and dusting out last season’s ones might bring a few shocks.
If you want to stand out from the fashion crowd and get your hands on designs by someone who could possibly be the next Tom Ford, then get yourself onto the Asos website sharpish.
The shopping site, which keeps us up until all times of the night uming and ahing over the latest dress, is now stocking Laden Showroom an independent boutique previously in Brick Lane.
So why are we getting so excited about this boutique? Well the shop stocks a huge range of up-and-coming British designers, many of whom then go on to be big names.
We love the Renne London button batwing dress, priced at £48 and the Flamingo Fade Print Jersey Babydoll Dress, which will add a bit of 70s tie dye magic to your clothing collection.
However, we get the feeling these won’t last too long, so get typing fast.
Love them or hate them there’s no denying that sheepskin Ugg boots are a must have every year.
However, there’s a new kid on the block and it’s looking like it may become leader of the pack (or flock.)
If you’re a fashion girl that doesn’t like to follow the herd, then these Kau Boots will heat up your heart as much as they do your feet. Why? Because, the company claims that every pair is completely different as they are made from individually hand selected hide.
And it doesn’t end there. Kau offers three different heights and seven colour options including black leather, mainly brown, brown and white and black and white. You can also pick from three different linings and two different soles.
Those that want to make their boots that extra bit special can also opt for the tailored option, which means getting arty by drawing around your feet and sending it off to the company. And the best thing is it will only set you back an extra £20.
It seems as though the Christmas sequin season has come early this year.
Following in the steps of other celebrities, last weekend Rumer Willis (that’s the daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore, in case you’ve been asleep for a while) donned a sequined black frock to mark her birthday.
Yes we may still all be in our light summer dresses at the moment, but judging by the weather and the fact that this is the UK, we might soon be needing a bit of autumn sparkle.
Like Demi, it’s clear Rumer has expensive taste.
However, the highstreet seems to be one step ahead of this 21 year old fashionista so we’ve had a good look, for research purposes of course, to bring you similar dresses that won’t cost the earth.
It’s been said before but I feel as though I should reinforce it and show how grateful I am to the internet for changing the way we all shop.
We can shop in our pyjamas without being arrested and sent to a loony bin, and save on piling on the makeup just because we have to go outside.
Yes there are many sites dedicated to helping us spend our money and helping us get through the insomniac ridden nights with wide eyed dreams of what will match the dress we just purchased at 3am. Now it seems there’s another one that’s joined the online gang.
Boutikee, launched today, combines ethnic style and vintage clothing giving us style that’s more East Asia and Europe than Eastenders.
We love the Grecian style Asymmetric dress in the Vintasian summer collection, which priced at £79 is a bargain. Polka dot fans will also go dotty over the retro-chic black and white polka dot crop top (£29) and skirt (£39).
However, if you’re a try before you buy girl then you can also visit the stall at Portobello Market, west London every Saturday this summer 2009. Just don’t forget not to change out of your PJs.
If, like me, you have a sweet tooth for shoes then you’ll love Kandee’s new collection, which has been aptly nicknamed the Refresher range. The collection has me fizzing with excitement, offering brightly coloured, kitsch style shoes, which are perfect for the summer.
We love the white and pastel pink 5 inch heeled platforms, known as the Bubbly Gum shoes, which we think are definitely worth blowing £108 on.
Likewise, the Fruit Belt heels, which although are so brightly coloured, you may need sunglasses to look at them, are also perfect for those who had a penchant for cramming as many different flavoured sweets in our mouth at the same time (or was that just me).
However the icing on top of this collection is without a doubt the Dippa Stick Boot. Like with its liquorice namesake sweet, you will love it or hate it, but with the black patent top complimented by a bright yellow heel, we can’t see what there isn’t to like
Sweet styled shoes without the calories, who could ask for anything more?
