Use UK launches website for eco friendly handbags

Button Clutch Olive Green and Aubergine.jpg

It seems that we're becoming far more eco conscious when buying our accessories.
Eco-friendly fashion company Use UK is facing such a demand for its individually designed and ethically produced handmade clutches that it is launching a sister site dedicated solely to these eco 'it' bags.

'I Love Clutch Bags' has a gorgeous range of clutch bags made from sustainably sourced leather and accessorised with vintage buckles and buttons.

The bags are made from leather bought from a UK supplier who follows Carbon Trust guidelines on sustainability. Each bag has a 100% silk lining and the company claims it searches high and low for beautiful clasps and buttons, some of which date back to the 1930s.

Each bag is also claimed to be a genuine one off, perfect for those of us who like to be different and prices are also an eco conscious decision for our pockets with prices starting from £48.

They may not be Louis Vuitton but we're more than happy to buy a bag when they look at good as this.

We've just been talking about bridesmaid dresses that can be worn again and again over on our wedding site Bridalwave, and now we've found something that you fashionistas can also do the same with.

This gorgeous dress is perfect for us cash strapped girl's who can't afford to update their wardrobes every weekend.

The limitless dress', by Emami, can be worn in a minimum of 30 ways as itcan be changed into a variety of different shapes and styles, including halterneck to strapless and to the more complicated maxi or jumper dress, to a halter-neck top or harem pants. You can even wear it as a poncho. In fact there are so many ways to wear this frock that the company has put together a range of videos to show you how. Have a look below for the first one.

At £99.99 it's not a bargain but if you wear the dress for the minimum 30 times then that's not really too bad is it.

Get fashionable heels for under £18 at Matalan

Matalan.jpgFashion can be a tricky thing. You want the season's latest trends but the year after your wardrobe is full of expensive shoes, dresses and accessories that look more apt in a charity shop than on you. And, let's admit it; it's kind of a waste of money.

So what do you do? Yes you can buy a few key pieces for each trend, or you can head to Matalan where you can pick up a range of this year's hottest shoe styles for under £18 (no this isn't a misprint.)

The range of shoes, which are available online, include the studded E Balmain look-a-likes and platform shoe boots that will take you straight into the 80s era.

Those feeling a little bit braver can also opt for the metallic silver platform boots, which we think are an 80s fashion bargain.

Get online now.

IMG_7329r2.jpgIt's good news for us girls who don't like wearing heels because flats are officially in. yes we know ballet style pumps have been around for ages but we really do have an excuse to keep them on.

We have permission to follow in the footsteps of US Vogue's style icon Anna Wintour this season and walk tall in the fashion stakes by opting for flats.

Ever since Ms Wintour stepped out at a party in the Hamptons without her trademark sky heels, the clamour for gorgeous flats has been resounding.

Vogue's editor-at-large, Leon Talley, has even criticised 'towering torture chambers' and called on ladies to find a new way to define their silhouette.

However, if you're one of those lucky girls who can walk in these high shoes and want to stay on top of the flat trend then you might like this footwear range by CocoRose.

The Sugar and Spice range are a collection of flats folded in a little purse. Perfect for when a night on the towers takes it toll.

Once you have taken the shoes out the purse's back pocket then pulls out to become a satin, shoulder bag in which pop the heels.

louiseredknapp-gal-capital.jpgWhile we're on the topic of bargain clothing we thought it would only be fair to share the launch of new online fashion site Fashion Union.

Launched this week, the fashion label is said to offer designer inspired fashions for bargain bucks. If you don't want to take our word for it then maybe you'll believe one of the site's fans and all round lovely celebrity Lousie Redknapp who has described the collection as "one of fashions best kept secrets."

We love the range of jumpers, dresses and of course jeans, which have all been styled on this year's trends including 80s, punk and sparkle. Get shopping now.

New Look launches Idol range clothing

New Look Idol dress.jpgWe're not ashamed to admit that we love New Look. It's funky fashionable and above all, very well priced.

So you can imagine how excited we were to hear about the high street stores new collection by Idol.

The range is said to bring a vibrant vintage rock vibe to a select number of stores internationally and is aimed at the style savvy shopper or the girl who wants to rock the trends of the moment in her own unique way.

We've had a sneak preview and the range, which is said to be inspired by '80s rock icons such as Debbie Harry, and it has some gorgeous pieces including boyfriend blazers, funky jumpsuits, denim and sequined dress.

There will also be a range of footwear including gladiator style stilettos, spike heel peep toe and chain adorned ankle boots.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada

New York, London and now Milan. Yes that's right Fashion Week has left our land and travelled across the sea to Italy, where this week it's the Italian designers chance to show off their creativity.

We can't wait, especially since Italy is originally the home to some of the world's renowned designers including Gucci, D&G and Prada.

Unfortunately we can't be there but we've found this amazing YouTube video of Prada's new collection, which we think really gives a good idea of the fashion we'll be expecting to see at Milan Fashion Week.

Sonia R.jpgH&M has worked with many designers over the past few years and we're ashamed to say we've succumbed to buying at least one item from nearly each collection.

A while ago we told you the high street store was collaborating with Jimmy Choo and now it's gone one step further, announcing that it will also be working with fashion designer, Sonia Rykiel.

The designer, best known for her love of all things Scottish and wooly, will be designing a range for winter 2009 and spring 2010. You can get your hands on the first part of the collection, which will consist of lingerie and accessories from December 5.

If you want something that will keep you that little bit warmer however, you'll have to wait until the middle of February for the designer's second collection, which will include a range of knitwear.

We wonder if it's too early to start queuing from now.

Make up magic.jpgThere's nothing like bagging a bargain to cheer us up on a Monday morning and this new website has really brightened up our day.

Magic Makeup is a fantastic site for us girls who want to get film star looks at budget prices.

It claims it can offer us the cheapest make up prices as it sells on line and has limited overheads.

Examples of new kissable treats include: Stilla Lipshine, which normally retails for £12, being sold on the site for £3.99 and Revlon Super Lustrous Shiny Sheers, normally £7 in stores but £2.45 through Magic Make up.

The website also sells bath and body products, plus scented candles. We can't think of a better way to spend some of our payday dosh.

Zara announces online shopping site

zara.jpgIf you're a regular reader of ShinyStyle then you'll know how much I love online shopping. It's quick and easy and you can do it any time of the day.

I've been known to spend a fortune in the wee hours of the morning when insomnia has taken its toll (well beats watching re-runs of Jeremy Kyle).

However one shop I haven't been able to attack is Zara. I'm not sure why but these Spanish brands don't like to put their items online (Mango has only just recently made its fashions available to UK users through Asos).

But there's good news (not for my credit card) as Zara has announced that it plans to launch a transactional website, so we can buy the Zara range online for the first time across Europe and the UK.

The estimated launch date for the retailer's website is the middle of next year meaning we fashionistas will be able to buy the autumn/winter 2010 collection from the comfort of our beds.

river-island-1253807495.jpgAlesha Dixon, Pixie Lott, Kelly Rowland and four-piece band Kid British have teamed up with River Island to create an exclusive range of T shirts for charity, The Trust.

River Island Presents...T's for The Trust range have been created by River Island Designers and the celebrities all of whom are Prince's Trust Ambassadors and are said to reflect each star's personal style.

Pixie Lott said: "My T-shirt dress is everything it should be - cheeky, fun and cool. I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money for The Prince's Trust as it's a cause close to my heart".

The celebrity-inspired designs will go on sale at River Island stores on 11 November, with all profits going to The Trust to help change young lives.

Tom Ford may launch women's range

tom-ford-1253737712.jpgI've always liked Tom Ford's designs even before he became a really well known designer for Gucci.

And I still credit him for bringing back the Halston-style velvet hipsters, skinny satin shirts and car-finish metallic patent boots, which he designed when he was at the fashion house.

I'm sure many of you were as gutted as me when he left to begin his own line, especially as so far he hasn't been designing any women's clothing.

Yes accessories and fragrances are all very nice but what we really want is a little bit of clothing injected with Mr Ford's creative mind. Well we may have got our wish because it's been rumoured that the designer is now looking for investment so he can expand into womenswear.

Now if I would be happy to help here but I don't think a couple of fivers and a stack of coppers from my money box would quite be enough for what he is looking for. Let's just hope someone sees his talent and gives him the investment he deserves so he can design the clothes we want.

We'll keep you updated of any changes.

Visit The RoC© Anti-ageing Boutique for one day only

anti-aging-products.JPGWhen should we begin thinking about anti-ageing products? In our teens or twenties? Or should we leave it until our youthful looks begin to be replaced by the first signs of middle age. We think it should begin from tomorrow.

Because the first RoC© bespoke anti-ageing boutique, La Dermacie de RoC©, is opening its doors to you for one day only. You'll also receive free RoC© samples and the first 50 to visit the boutique will receive a free product from the new Wrinkle Correxion range.

Fintstones look dress: Yay or Nay?

pixie.jpgWe're not quite sure what we're going to do with ourselves now that London Fashion Week has closed its runway doors for another season (sob).

It's been an amazing week full of designs that have had us shivering with excitement and, at times, horror.

We know we'll still be talking about the week for a long time to come, especially when high street stores begin bringing out replicas of the catwalk creations but one thing we don't expect to ever be telling you about again is this caveman outfit by designer Jeremy Scott.

Now, we love the Flintstones look and think this dress looked amazing on the catwalk but we're not sure we'd want to see any replicas of this hitting the high street anytime soon.

Or are we being too hasty? Would you like to see a similar style of this one-shouldered, neon orange prom-style dress modeled by Pixie Geldof? And would you wear it?

Vote below and let us know.

Chanel launches a range of limited edition nail varnishes

chanel-jade-collection-1253731374-1253735244.jpgEvery now and again I like to indulge myself with a bottle of designer nail varnish.

It's easy to put on, dries quickly (most of the time) and doesn't chip as easily as my favourite high street brand and Chanel's new range is something I'm definitely going to get my hands on.

The couture designer has announced its Jade Nail Polish Collection in two limited edition colours, Jade Rose and Jade.

They are said to mirror the jade jewelry and the pink knit and pistachio tweed of Chanel's ready-to-Wear Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 collection.

It is also claimed that the jade colour was picked out as it resembled the green tweed skirt suit from the collection.

We know we'll be fighting tooth and nail to get one of these limited colours when the range hits the shops in October.
