Review: Scholl Cracked heel repair cream

Cracked Heel.JPGDue to many factors, I haven’t had my monthly pedicures this year (gasp with shock or sigh with sympathy as appropriate), in fact I don’t think I’ve had one all year.

Wearing flip flops all summer, walking around bare foot and on the sand has therefore left my feet in a state, where they should be hidden inside some very thick socks. So I was quite pleased when Scholl sent me its newest Cracked Heel Repair Cream K+ to test out.

Now this may not be the sexiest product on the market, and I advise you use it when your other half is out/ too absorbed in the football. It’s said to work within 7 days and show visible results within three.

See how I got on after the jump.

I started using it on Saturday and because there’s no instructions on how much to use, I made the mistake of putting quite a bit onto my heels. Bad mistake. The cream is quite greasy and it took me a long time to rub it in after, if I’m honest I think most of it ended up on the carpet.

The second time I used it (you use it twice a day) I swapped my heavy handed approach and used a pea sized amount, building up the cream as I went along, and I’m pleased to say this worked so much better.

Twice a day may seem alot to use this cream especially if you don’t want to be doing it at work, and the cream takes a good five minutes to put on and then another 5 to dry, which means you’ll have to allow time for it in your morning routine and in the evening (I used my television time here).

However, all that effort seems to have paid off, after three days my heels were much softer and today I’ve really noticed a difference. It might even be time to get those flip flops out for one last summer celebration stint. For £5.99 it’s also so much cheaper than a pedicure.
