We all want the hair we haven't been blessed with. Those who have poker straight locks envy those with curly tresses, donning curling tons and braving perms to get the look, while curly haired girls rush for their GHDs.
However, as any good hairdresser will tell you, these miracle inventions shouldn't be used regularly as they could damage your hair.
We take you back to blow drying basics with the help of Schwarzkopf Professional Ambassador Aaron Blondell, Assistant Art Director at John Carne Hairdressing, giving you some tips to ensure you get the perfect blow dry.
Tip #1: Decide on the blowdry.
According to Aaron blow drying your hair with the right brushes opens up a variety of styles and finishes so first think about what you want to achieve. "Paddle bushes are great for smooth, straight styles, round thermo ceramic brushes are good for volume and shape, wooden brushes are perfect for hair that needs real tension to help you master your look and dressing brushes will help with finish on any style," he told us.

Tip #2: Rough Dry
In order to ensure your hair works with you, it's important to get the humidity out of your locks using a towel. Aaron advises you also comb your hair into a rough version of the final shape you are looking to achieve before rough drying again with a hair dryer. Use a blow drying cream such as OSiS Upload (RRP £9.75) which builds body into hair for lightweight volume and a beautiful silky finish.
Tip #3: Get styling
Aaron said: "Using your chosen tool, dry hair in sections around the whole head, drying each section in both directions which will help achieve an even volume and smooth finish. This is known as the wrapping technique." You should now have locks to die for without using GHDs.
