Looking pretty and delicate at her Hammersmith Apollo show last night
Disney darling Selena Gomez performed at London’s Hammersmith Apollo last night, showing the UK that it’s not just Miley Cyrus we should be keeping one fashion eye trained on. Unlike Miley Cyrus, who seems to be favouring ultra-sexy leather, big hair and lace at her live shows now (rebelling against her Hannah Montana past?), Selena looked every inch the wholesome Disney star in her stage performance. But wholesome doesn’t mean boring! Her flirty asymmetric turquoise chiffon dress is a bang on-trend take of the traditional pretty party dress, while her pale tights and delicate ballet flats seemed to give more than a nod to the super-girly clothes seen on the Elie Saab catwalks at Paris Fashion Week.
If you’re not feeling the vampy leather and lace combinations that are on every catwalk and in every high-street store at the moment, then this could be a look that works for you. We found a couple of pretty high-street dresses online that are true Selena femininity – the origami asymmetric teal dress we found at Topshop is a great way to directly steal her style, or if you’re just feeling the ballerina look generally then try the periwinkle chiffon number by Rare that we found on Asos – we promise you it won’t go out of style.
