Our Cheryl is famous for her chocolate-haired, lusciously doe-eyed look, so it was a massive surprise to see this photos today of her out and about right before the second week of live X factor rounds sporting new cranberry-coloured hair. On closer inspection it’s the exact same colour as her yummy leather handbag – I suppose that’s probably not why she dyed it though.
She’s had red tones to her hair before, but this is a shade of scarlet that could rival Storm Lee’s. In the past it’s been a colour that has only been favoured by the bravest of the brave when it comes to celebrity hair – think Rihanna and Florence Welch – but we at Shiny Style can predict that a lot of Chezza fans will be reaching for the Loreal home-kit hair dye now (which is, incidentally, what she used – if you want to get your hair this colour you can find it online here).
So what do you think? Do you like our Cheryl’s new plum-coloured locks or did you prefer her a more natural brown? Vote in our poll and comment below to let us know what you think.

Girl’s Aloud glamazon Kimberley Walsh has launched her debut jewellery line for Argos, the one-stop shop for all things technical, shiny and reasonably priced.
She is the last of the Girl’s Aloud gang to start up her own business venture – Cheryl Cole, despite being a brand in herself, runs the high-end luxury jewellery line De Grisogono, while bandmate Nicole Roberts is now the brain behind the makeup brand Dainty Doll which specialises in makeup for pale and fair-skinned girls. Meanwhile, party-girl Sarah Harding owns a club in Mayfair while Northern-Irish beauty Nadine owns an Irish pub in Los Angeles. So really, it’s been a long time coming for Kimberley to strike out on her own.
The singer said of her new affordable jewellery line: “‘I like jewellery, I feel at least that keeps its worth. I can’t really justify spending a lot of money on clothes when there are so many other things I could spend it on, like saving for a mansion.” You’re a lot more sensible than the rest of us, Kim.
It’s a pretty debut from the star, with plenty of delicate gold jewellery that won’t break the bank and will look good with your dress at the Christmas party. You can view her designs at the Argos website here.

It’s been a good week for celebrity spotting in London as some of the UK’s biggest celebrities have papped out and about, some looking impeccably put together and some not so. The BFI London Film Festival has brought some beautiful outfits (and their owners) into town, including Keira Knightley.
The most notable red carpet outfit that we saw was worn by the pixielike actress Carey Mulligan, who appeared nymph-like and Grecian in an achingly pretty white maxi-dress that looked like it was spun out of heaven and tissue paper, along with gold wedges and hair braided off her face that made an interesting change from her regular androgynous crop. With her hair pulled off her face you could see just how pretty the actress is. Another favourite outfit from that evening was worn by radio personality Edith Bowman who was wearing a trademark vintage-style cream minidress with an adorable Peter Pan collar and the accessory for this winter – the skinny belt.
We were amazed to see Amanda Holden actually looking really, really good and ticking two trend boxes at once with her dramatic-looking camel cape, worn with dainty leather gloves and some chunky studded ankle boots. Why doesn’t she dress like this every day? Meanwhile, Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud was also rocking the camel trend in a caramel-coloured one shouldered mini-dress, looking surprisingly avant-garde with a high topknot at the launch of her new jewellery line for Argos.
Speaking of Nicola Roberts, the auburn-haired singer was snapped by paparazzi leaving the Dorchester Hotel looking like a ginger Marilyn Monroe with big sexy curls, a graphic-printed minidress and a classic quilted purse. Nicola, who is now running her own makeup range called Dainty Doll, kept the look modern by sexing it up with a biker jacket.
Kylie was spotted out looking dinky and nowhere near her true age leaving a meeting in leafy London, wearing dark skinny jeans and electric blue shoe boots as she walked down the road. Lovely hair and lovely big handbag too. Lara Stone was also spotted looking very happy and loved-up, leaving a fancy restaurant with her new hubby David Walliams in a classic black minidress which showed off just how long her legs really are. (Answer: long enough to make us weep.)
And finally, Kate Moss was seen out and about with her boo Jamie Hince after a cosy afternoon lunch at “The Cow” pub in London in 1950s Wayfarer shades (real of course, not your bog-standard Topshop replicas) and a skinny blazer in classic Moss style. The girl never lets us down.

Everyone’s favourite lollipop-headed beauty has been a bit off the celebrity radar as of late (what – no more Pirates of the Caribbean?) as she’s been busily hard at work on location with her co-star, Carey Mulligan, for the new public school drama film “Never Let Me Go” which premiered at London Film Festival the other day. However, she’s been showing everyone at London Film Festival that her sense of style is just getting better and better – a far cry from the strange “Polish bride” jeans and crop tops that she was stepping out in at the beginning of her career, Keira instead seems to be opting for elegant 1940s-style blouses and midi skirts that set off her face and jaw-skimming retro bob perfectly.
It’s no wonder that she’s the fashion apple of Karl Lagerfeld’s eye as she wore a beautifully simplistic Chanel nude tailored dress to the première of her new film, outshining even the gamine Carey Mulligan in the style stakes. I did a hunt around on the internet for some key pieces that can help you get a bit of Keira’s nonchalant, laidback elegance in your everyday wardrobe. I couldn’t track down a ten quid replica of the Chanel evening gown, but hey – I’ve done my best, dammit. Check out the gallery above for some of our favourite of Keira’s recent outfits and where you can find similar pieces on the high street.

I can spy a catfight between two of the world’s grossest girls breaking out as Jodie Marsh completely cussed out Katie Price in an interview to the Daily Star (classy), saying of her formal “glamour” rival: “Does anyone care about her any more? I don’t.” BEEF. She also made the slightly silly allegation that Katie, AKA Jordan, would “sell her own grandmother to a magazine if she could.” Silly old Jodie, what would a magazine want with Jordan’s grandma? Anyway, here’s hoping that this diss turns into a full on extension-ripping bloodbath – they could make a reality show on ITV about it.
Unfortunately, this isn’t Harry Hill’s TV Burp, so we can’t put two fat men put in glamour-model costumes and make them fight each other on telly for your amusement and entertainment. BUT, we can put them up against each other in a fashion face-off to decide – who is the worst dressed? Is it crusty old Jodie or blow-up Jordan? In fairness, they both look like they’ve been inflated and wear solely what they find in the bargain bins at Anne Summers, so it’s going to be a toughie. But it’ll be fun arguing it out. Check out the gallery below of some of their very memorable looks over the past few years, then vote for the worst-dressed. Who’s going to be crowned the foulest woman in Britain? You decide.

Amy Winehouse seems to be back on top form, as a tasteful black and white photoshoot for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar showed us. The smoky-voiced singer looked much more healthy and glamorous than she has in a very long time, rocking her iconic Bardot-esque beehive and a 1960s pea coat for the shoot, which will be available to buy later this week.
It’s good to see that Amy’s recovered from her fall from grace – a couple of years ago you couldn’t look through a gossip magazine without seeing a photo of her looking tired and scabby, or hear increasingly nasty developments of her tumultuous relationship with her then-hubby, Blake. But what a recovery she’s made. The singer has regained her curves, got a lovely new boyfriend and is set to launch a classically 1950s collection of sportswear with iconic British fashion brand Fred Perry, which should be available to buy this month. It’s good to have Wino back again – we can’t wait to see what she’s come up with.
