Christian Dior… those two words are enough to get us all excited, especially because we never quite know what John Galliano, who walked up the catwalk at PFW in pigtails and a full navy uniform, is going to create.
And of course, his special outfit set the tone for Dior’s SS2011 collection which was a mix of 40s and nautical fashions.
Navy high-waisted sailor pants sashayed down the runway complete with matching sailor hats as well as rope drawstring duffle bags.
And then came the 40s fashion. Chiffon maxi and short dresses in bright pinks, yellows and pattern brightened up the catwalk, giving a nod to the post war trends. And the 50s also got a teeny look in with high waisted silhouettes and models styled as 1950’s movie pin-up girls with flick-up hair.
