Ballgowns and puffball skirts were the two trends for last night’s Haper’s Bazaar Woman of the year awards, with a range of leading ladies opting for these for the event.

Emma Thompson looked like a classic English rose in a blue satin frock, with draped shoulder detailing, while Yasmin Le Bon added some vintage style to her red ball gown dress with a fur shrug.

Hayley Atwell also gave a nod to the vintage look in a velvet blazer, which she teamed up with black trousers, while Charlotte Tilbury  went for a funky fashion look with a feathered skirt teamed up with a tee and blazer. Also looking a little bit more casual was Annie Lennox who opted for a velvet blazer with a logo tee, while Mariella Frostrup showed that it’s not always pretty in pink with a questionable puff dress.
However our best dressed of the event has got to go to Natalia Vodianova who looked gorgeous in a gold metallic frock… take note ladies, this is going to be a hot Christmas trend this year.
