Burberry is the LFW show to watch, always giving us a range of surprises, and Christopher Bailey’s AW 2011 collection once again did just that. This time the designer focused on the 1960s introducing flat fur cow print caps and bright bold colours to the winter mix.
Styles were reflective of the vintage Balenciaga and Courreges looks, with crop shoulder coats and little red riding style caped jackets marching down the runway.
And we also went right back to the early 70s/late 60s with a range of bold retro prints, which made an appearance on Twiggy style tunics, flares and tops.
Add to that the huge nods to the military look thanks to detailing on coats and dresses and you’ve got a collection, which is not only ready to wear but fun and playful too.
We want that cape, we want that hat and we most definitely want that coat.
