NY Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 collection

Marc Jacobs was one of the NY Fashion Week shows we’d been waiting for, and judging by the celebrity crowd in the front row we weren’t the only ones.

For his fall 2011 collection Marc decided to mix and match eras and influences. One strong theme we picked up was the 80s sexy secretary style, driven by Jacobs’ use of the pencil skirt,  sharp padded jackets and collarles sheer blouses.

Then came the cute polka dots, which adorned high necked pencil dresses, knitted numbers and hats as well as jackets, organza ruffle tops with fake-crocodile skirts.

But it wasn’t all cutesy and girly, with a hint of sex also pouring onto the catwalk. Corseted sweaters  and rubber trousers teamed with patent-leather and rubber leather wedge-heel also made a saucy appearance.
