New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off and one of the first designer’s creations to hit the A/W 2011 catwalk was Christian Siriano.

Alexa Chung made a front row appearance to watch the show, which bought with it  some ladylike chic combined with hints of luxury to form a pretty, very feminine collection.

Blush coloured long cocktail dresses in floaty chiffon were followed by Grecian style frocks and tops in khaki and blacks, while ruffles made an appearance on shorter sheer dresses.

There was also a nod to the 80s and masculine tailoring with high waisted wide leg trousers complete with the must have tucked in jumper, as well as those leather look tight skinnies.

It was a very good start to the week and we can’t wait to see the rest.
