Michelle's contrasting colours stand out against Kate's taupe frock

Fresh from her fashion foray in Ireland, Michelle Obama made some more style steps in the UK yesterday when she met the Queen, Samantha Cameron and of course Kate Middleton.
The first lady opted for a striking and on-trend contrasting colour look for her royal look, going for a pale blue patterned 50s style dress teamed up with a bright pink cropped jacket. Her attire was a stark contrast to the taupe hue worn by Kate Middleton who opted for a high street slinky dress by Reiss.
Contrasting colours also made an appearance for the meeting with the Prime Minister and his wife. Michelle went for a purple frock with a long blue jacket while Sam Cam went for a more casual floral look for the meeting.
However, whilst Michelle’s style was casual for the daytime meetings her cream long halterneck frock, teamed with gloves really gave her an edge at the evening event at the palace.
UK leading ladies take note.
