Jessica Simpson doesn’t think she could “top” the wedding of Prince William and Princess Catherine.
The 30-year-old singer – who is engaged to marry former NFL player Eric Johnson – admired what the Duchess of Cambridge wore for her nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey on April 29, but is not going to compete with her in the style stakes.
She said: “I absolutely adore Kate’s dress. I thought she looked absolutely beautiful, there’s no bride that can top a royal wedding.
“I’m not going to be wearing the same kind of thing, but it will be beautiful in its own right.”
Jessica, who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey, was also praised by her new partner Eric, who added he thought she was “beautiful”.
He told ‘Access Hollywood’: “She’s just a regular, grounded, down to earth person and I like it. Beautiful, beautiful.”
The blonde beauty recently revealed she wanted to lose some weight prior to her big day.
She said: “I have a date – I’m really excited!”
“I am going to dance around my bedroom and hopefully lose some weight – and lift some weights and do what I can!”

Lady Gaga and Karl Lagerfeld have teamed up to create charity t-shirts for Japan.
The eccentric pop star and the Chanel designer are among a host of celebrities who have collaborated with Uniqlo and Conde Nast Japan to design 10 t-shirts with profits going to the Japanese Red Cross, which is working to alleviate the impact of the earthquake and tsunami on the country in March.
Other stars who have gotten involved include Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Alber Elbaz, Cyndi Lauper and Victoria Beckham.
Blake Lively – who was recently named the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag range – and Uniqlo brand representatives Charlize Theron and Orlando Bloom have also designed t-shirts for the initiative.
The creations will go on sale on June 25 with Uniqlo expecting to donate profits of $1.2 million to the fund.
This is not the first time Uniqlo has donated to the Japan cause, Tadashi Yanai, chairman and chief executive officer of Uniqlo’s parent company Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., has personally donated $12 million, with the retailer also sending $8.5 million in clothes and $3.6 million in funds immediately after the disaster.

Lady Gaga once had a threesome.
The eccentric singer – who has revealed she is bisexual in the past – admits she has previously slept with two people at once, but refused to give any details, including the gender of the participants.
Asked if she had a “three-way”, she replied: “Umm, well I suppose I have, yes. I don’t want to reveal too much. I just can say the truth. ”
The ‘Judas’ hitmaker recently appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in a threesome-themed sketch with Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg, and added the pair were very nervous about asking her to take part.
She told Detroit radio station Channel 955′s ‘Mojo in the Morning’ show : “Justin was like, ‘Umm, so, umm, we have a skit idea and umm, well, I’m not really good at this I’ll have Andy tell you. Then Andy came and was like, ‘Well, umm, bluh blah we have this skit idea.’
“Then they both came in finally and they told me the story and I’m like, ‘Guys I get it.’ They’re like, ‘We really like each other.’ I just said ‘OK’. Finally, I finally got it out of them.”
Gaga – who announced earlier this month she had split from boyfriend Luc Carl – also revealed yesterday she is into older men “over 60″, especially when she comes to the UK.
She said: “I don’t like to go to nightclubs, so whenever I go out in the UK I will go to a pub and drink with some old guys. I suppose I do prefer older men, especially when I’m drinking. Definitely over 60… I like to have a pint and a whiskey.”

Jimmy Choo has been sold for a reported £525.5 million.
The footwear company – which was bought by TowerBrook in 2007 for £225 million – will now be under the ownership of luxury goods group Labelux.
Jimmy Choo creative officer Tamara Mellon told WWD: “I am immensely proud of all we have achieved over the last 15 years and delighted we are to be part of Labelux, a partner that I know shares our values and passion and [that] seeks ambitious growth in the luxury industry.
“This is wonderful news for the women who are, or who aspire to become, part of the Jimmy Choo lifestyle.”
Labelux plan to work on developing Jimmy Choo in the fast-developing Asian market.
Jimmy Choo CEO Joshua Schulman said: “Labelux is really complementary to Jimmy Choo with its focus on luxury fashion, accessories and jewellery.
“We look forward to partnering with them on our [aggressive] growth plans.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed founder Jimmy Choo was seeking advice to make a £500 million bid to buy back his firm.
An unnamed London-based investment bank said: “Mr Jimmy Choo has hired Daniel Stewart, so that he can assess his own options and any ways that he might be able to participate in the process.”
However, the plan soon fizzled out and at one stage TowerBrook mooted floating Jimmy Choo on the stock exchange.
Christopher Kane has designed a range of black cabs for Vodafone.
The British designer has combined the Union Jack flag with the signature celestial prints from his Spring/Summer Resort 2011 collection to create a unique makeover for the 100 taxis which took to the streets yesterday and are fitted with mobile phone chargers and a new system enabling customers to pay by text message.
Christopher said: “The black cab is such an iconic part of London’s landscape. I am honoured to have the opportunity to put my own distinctive stamp on it. Looking forward to seeing one on the street and hailing it down!”
Vodafone Director of Brand Marketing, Danielle Crook, added: “Christopher Kane was the perfect choice for this design partnership as he always pushes the boundaries to produce eye popping couture that will be sought after worldwide. These new Vodafone cabs ensure Londoners can always stay in touch with friends and family on the go, whilst also bringing a touch of high fashion to the streets of London.”
Christopher – who was previously named as the winner of the British Fashion Council/Vogue Fashion Fund – is no stranger to unusual works, revealing his London Fashion Week show in February was inspired by lollipops and pencils cases.
He said: “This will be known as ‘The liquid collection.’ It was inspired by the pencil cases I had at school and lollipops. But we didn’t want it to be over elaborate – we wanted it to be about really wearable, sophisticated clothes.
“It’s more minimal than anything I’ve done before. But it’s time for a change. No more lace or any of that. I didn’t want any decoration.”
We’ve been so focused on all the Hollywood glamour that we’ve forgotten the leading ladies in the world of soap.
Yes, we know we have a giggle at various awards when the garish dresses come out, but this year’s soap awards proved that some of these ladies really know how to dress, so we’ve decided that over the next few weeks we’ll be having a closer look at some of these soap stars.
Kicking off our mini soap series is Brooke Vincent. The actress who plays Sophie Webster in Corrie caught our attention when she turned up the the British Soap Awards in a lime green Lipsy dress. However, she showed she was a girl after our own hearts when we heard that she’d customised the frock herself with crystals.
On the topic of her red carpet dresses, the soap starlet is often seen in classic designs ranging from 50s tea lengths to that classic LBD. Of course these are a far cry from the garish almost WAG style frocks her character wears.
Off the red carpet Brook keeps it simple opting for on-trend designs such as block colours and punk style tees. That’s what we call soap star style.
See the gallery below for all her star style.
Christina Hendricks is always asked whether her breasts are fake.
The ‘Mad Men’ star – who is known for her curvaceous figure – explained while her buxom bust has made it difficult to find clothes that fit well over the years, she is finally learning to “celebrate” what she was born with.
She said: “If there’s anything to be learned from me it’s that I’m learning to celebrate what I was born with, even though it’s sometimes been inconvenient. Having larger breasts has made it harder for me to shop throughout the years, but I’ve learnt to love it.
“It’s so bizarre that people are constantly asking if my breasts are real or fake. They’re so obviously real that anyone who’s ever seen or touched a breast would know.”
However, the 36-year-old actress hasn’t always been applauded for her looks, and was “bullied like crazy” for being “a goth with purple hair” during her school days.
Christina added to You magazine: “My school days were not a happy time, and I’m always amazed when people say they love their time in high school.
“I went to a very mean school and was bullied like crazy. I was a bit of a goth with purple hair and I was also part of the drama group, which was filled with actors and writers and wasn’t really accepted by the rest of the school.
“There was a long corridor with lockers on either side and kids would sit on top of them and spit on you. It was like something out of ‘Lord of the Flies’, but if I learned anything it was to remain true to myself and not to conform for the sake of it.”
Lindsey Wixon felt “honoured” at becoming the new face of Alexander McQueen.
The 17-year-old beauty admits she was shocked when she discovered she was the model for the fashion label’s latest campaign but was thrilled at the prospect.
She said: “It was a total surprise. I was standing backstage at a McQueen show and someone took my picture. I then looked on MODELS.COM soon later and it was up there as the McQueen campaign shot! I hadn’t known at all, I nearly cried! I was so honoured. That spring/summer 2011 show was really emotional. I cried at the end.”
Lindsey – who has been hailed as the next big thing – says she loves everything about modelling and can’t believe how glamorous her life has become.
She told vogue.co.uk: “Prada flew my sister and I first class to Beijing for a show there. We went business class – it was so glamorous – we had our own pod and everything. The Pet Shop Boys performed after, it was amazing. I was afraid to tell my friends about it, in case they thought I was boasting. I get really scared of anyone thinking that. Maybe it has something to do with those girls from school.
“If you’re a model you’re paid to be a muse. McQueen, for example, is all about powerful women. The designer chooses you to be a face because you project a feeling or an idea of a person. You create an idea, rather than a new character.”
