One of Pippa Middleton’s favourite designers hopes to see the royal family wearing more of her designs.
Duchess Catherine’s sister wore a pair of Aruna Seth silver sandals with her green Alice Temperley gown to her sibling’s wedding reception and Aruna hopes Pippa will influence other members of the royal family to follow in her footsteps.
She told vogue.co.uk: “We’d love to see more of the royal family at all their social events in Aruna Seth shoes.
“The royal family have to wear classic outfits because their photographs are remembered forever, and we design our shoes to be classics with longevity. We loved Princess Beatrice’s Philip Treacy hat at the royal wedding and her dusty pink Valentino couture outfit looked divine. We’d love to see more A-list celebrities wearing Aruna Seth at the Oscars next year and we’ll certainly be sending out extra pairs of our shoes over to LA in preparation for all the awards ceremonies.”
With the royals’ emphasis on classic couture, Aruna is hopeful her company’s latest collection in neutral shades will be exactly what they are looking for.
She added: “This summer we’ve tried to focus on neutral colours, many of the shoes are nude and tan toned with the idea the shoes can be easily matched with many outfits and are a classic design.
“We still have some sparkly shoes in the collection, for example our silver Lynn Swarovski butterfly sandals.”

John Galliano will attend his trial this week.
The troubled fashion designer has been in rehab since he allegedly made anti-Semetic remarks in a Paris cafe in February but insiders say he will be in court in the French capital for the initial hearing on Wednesday (22.06.11).
A source told Vogue.co.uk: “John is still in rehab. The treatment will be long and arduous – and ongoing for a long time in the future – but he is humble, apologetic and hopeful that he can recover.”
The initial hearing – which will be held in front of three judges but no jury as it is a minor offence – is expected to last between four and five hours, with witnesses from both sides giving evidence.
The 50-year-old designer – who was fired from Dior over his remarks – is expected to blame a drug and alcohol addiction for the tirade, while his lawyer Aurelien Hamelle admits John can’t remember the alleged incident.
Aurelien said: “He does not remember because he was in an altered state.”
Speaking about the comments, the lawyer added: “They do not reflect what he thinks. He’s not anti-Semitic or racist.”

Christina Henricks showed off her enviable curves last night at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
The Madmen starlet went for a black body hugging short frock with short sleeves, which she teamed up with court shoes and a silver bag.
Also making their mark on the red carpet were Courtney Cox who went for an on-trend snake print wrap dress and Zooey Deschanel channelled her trademark kooky style with a white tunic complete with a Peter Pan collar.
Also wearing white was Cat Deeley who went for a girly lace number, while Glee star Jane Lynch went for her trademark suit look.

ady Gaga has got back together with her ex-boyfriend.
The ‘Edge of Glory’ singer announced she had separated from Luc Carl in May but the pair have now decided to give their romance another try.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: “They had a little fight. I think the break-up lasted a week or two. But they are totally back together now.”
Gaga – who got together with Luc again in July 2010 after they had a break from each other – announced she was single during an appearance on British TV series ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
She said: “No, I don’t have a boyfriend and haven’t been on any dates recently.”
The 25-year-old singer wrote the song ‘You and I’, which features on her global chart-topping album ‘Born This Way’, about 30-year-old Luc and admitted in the wake of the break-up performing the track makes her emotional.
She explained: “There is not one song on any of my records that wasn’t written by me, and I think when you write your own music you find ways to reinvent [the songs] emotionally through yourself and performance so that they are different every night and that song you know, sometimes it’s about the guy and sometimes it’s about the fans.”

Cheryl Cole is “broken-hearted” to know her fans have been concerned about her.
The 27-year-old singer – who was sensationally axed from the US ‘X Factor’ last month – explained while she has had the “weirdest few weeks”, she has enjoyed finally having the time to “chill” with her friends and family.
In a message to fans on her official website, she said: “I have had the weirdest past few weeks (nothing unusual there though.) I wouldn’t even know how to begin to tell you all about it.
“I have had the time that I have not had in so long to just chill with my loved ones and do the normal things that I like to do. See my friends and family and be with my doggys. It feels long overdue and sooooo good, even my feet are happy to not have to wear a pair of high heels hehe.
“It also breaks my heart a little when i hear that some of you worry about me and need to know that I am ok, so I want to PROMISE you that I am absolutely fine and more than OK! (sic)”
Meanwhile, England soccer player Ashley Cole – who she divorced in September 2010 amid revelations of multiple affairs – has reportedly claimed the couple getting back together is a “done deal” after the brunette beauty spent the night at their former marital home in Surrey, South East England.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Ashley gave a lost and hurt woman, whom he still loves, a place to lay her head. It reminded her of a happier time. It was masochistic of her and clever of him. He’d do anything to woo her back. Her PR team insist it is platonic but they are very worried.
“None of this would have happened if she hadn’t lost ‘The X Factor’ gig. She has gone from being incredibly busy to having time on her hands. She has been thinking a lot and was feeling extremely vulnerable when she went to Ashley’s.”

Kate Moss is the ultimate festival style icon, according to Alice Temperley.
The British designer – who dressed Pippa Middleton for the royal wedding reception – believes the 37-year-old model always gets her music festival look right and maintains it is simple to achieve.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “Take really comfortable loose pieces that look effortless to wear. Converse are the perfect shoes, unless you need wellies, as they helps protect your feet if you tread on anything horrid – not too hot not too cold.
“A pair of sunglasses are a must and a good satchel or pouch bag that you can wear across your body with the few essentials – the smaller the better. Loose layers and a piece of cashmere so you don’t get caught short when the sun goes behind a cloud.”
Alice recently revealed how happy she was to work with Pippa on her dress for the wedding reception of Pippa’s sister Duchess Catherine and her husband Prince William.
She said: “I was delighted that Ms. Pippa Middleton asked us to design her dress for the royal wedding evening reception. Pippa is a beautiful young woman and a pleasure to work with. She looked incredible and the green looks great on her skin tone.”

Carolina Herrera has designed the wedding dress worn by Kristen Stewart’s character in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
The wedding dress creator – loved by stars including Amy Adams and Christina Hendricks – has said she was delighted to make the dress for Bella Swan and added she would make a “beautiful” bride in the film, where she marries vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).
She said in a statement: “It is always a great pleasure to design any wedding gown, but this one was particularly special.
“Kristen is a stunning girl and her character Bella will make a beautiful bride.”
Confirmation originally came from twitter, where the official studio Summit Entertainment wrote: “On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in BreakingDawnPart1!(sic)”
Little is known about the specifics of the dress, but in the trailer for the movie – which is released on November 18 – Bella is seen wearing a long sleeved gown with her hair up and a simple veil attached with a small comb.

Duchess Catherine has been praised by milliners Lock & Co Hatters for her impeccable taste.
The wife of Prince William – who is renowned for her sophisticated style – recently wore a hat by the label to two events, the Trooping the Colour ceremony and a friend’s wedding and designer Sylvia Fletcher is thrilled Catherine’s love of stylist headwear is encouraging more people to embrace the trend.
She said: “I am absolutely thrilled Kate chose it. It’s a piece that I personally really love. I’m delighted, I really am. She looked stunning – she has such wonderful taste. She does seem to love our hats.
“It’s a very exciting time for us. We’re getting a lot of interest from the US and from Canada – nations that have never really been into hat wearing before. Our website has given us a much wider presence, and it looks like much more popularity.”
However Sylvia understands not everyone will have the same budget as the duchess and says the company have recently designed a middle fashion hats range in order to keep the brand affordable.
She added to Vogue.co.uk: “We’ve more recently turned it into more of a high fashion business. It’s expanded enormously over the past few years. We’ve designed a middle fashion hats range, which is all about affordable luxury.”

Rihanna has been named a tourism ambassador for Barbados.
The S&M singer – who was born on the Caribbean island – has joined forces with the country’s tourism authority because she wants people to experience the “spirit and warmth” of her fellow Barbadians.
Rihanna said: “Barbados is a place like no other and one of the reasons for this is the spirit and national pride of our people. I want each and every visitor to this beautiful island to experience what makes this destination different from all others and that is the spirit and warmth of my fellow Barbadians.”
In addition to promoting Barbados worldwide, the 23-year-old singer will kick off her duties by bringing her ‘Loud’ tour to her hometown of Bridgetown in August.
The Barbados Tourism Authority said: “We are proud to announce that musical sensation and social phenomenon Rihanna has partnered with the Barbados Tourism Authority as an exclusive promotional partner for three years. Celebrate this amazing announcement today by joining us on August 5 as she brings her ‘Loud’ tour to Bridgetown, Barbados, her homeland.”
