Amy Winehouse’s funeral will take place today
The 27-year-old singer – who was found dead at her north London home on Saturday will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for her loved ones, a family spokesperson has confirmed.
The representative refused to give details of the time or location for the service.
Jewish customs normally require a funeral to take place within 24 hours of death.
However, Amy’s had to be delayed in order for post-mortem examinations to be carried out.
Her inquest was opened and immediately adjourned at London’s St Pancras Coroner’s Court today in order to prevent further delays in the burial.
Assistant Deputy Coroner Suzanne Greenaway told the two-minute hearing: “I’m formally opening this inquest. I’m issuing interim certificates to allow Miss Winehouse’s family to make arrangements for the funeral.”
Sharon Duff, Coroner’s Officer at St Pancras Coroner’s Court, had earlier told the hearing: “I bring before you the death of Amy Jade Winehouse, aged 27, born on the 14 September 1983 in London.
“She was a divorced lady living at Camden Square, NW1. She was certified dead at her home by a paramedic and a doctor on July 23.
“She was a singer/songwriter at the time of her death and was identified by her family here at St Pancras this morning. A section 20 post mortem has been carried out and histology and toxicology taken to determine the cause of death.
“The scene was investigated by police and determined non-suspicious.”
The case has now been adjourned until October 26.
Carey Mulligan is reportedly engaged to Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford.
The ‘Never Let Me Go’ actress – who was first spotted with the folk musician at an intimate concert in Nashville in February – was showing off her engagement ring to guests at Babington House in Somerset, South West England, over the weekend.
A witness told The Sun newspaper: “Carey looked like the cat who had got the cream. She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn’t seem to mind who saw it.
“They were stuck to each other like glue. She was doing most of the talking and he was hanging on her every word.”
Carey, 26, and Marcus, 24, have been inseparable since they began their relationship, often spending time together at the ‘Roll Away Your Stone’ singer’s London home, as well as enjoying a break together to the Orkney Islands in Scotland in March and most recently Carey joined Marcus on the Mumford & Sons’ ‘Railroad Revival’ tour in Arizona.
Carey, 26, has previously dated ‘Transformers’ star Shia LeBoeuf, while Marcus, 24, split with fellow folk singer Laura Marling not long before meeting Carey.
Kristen Stewart was horrified by the robotic baby she had to work with in ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′.
The actress – who plays Bella Swann in the vampire film series – was looking forward to her alter-ego having a child with her on-screen blood-sucking lover Edward Cullen but admits the reality was somewhat different because they used an animatronic child, which was operated by a member of the crew.
Speaking of the moment Bella meets her half-vampire, half-human child, Kristen said: “In the book that was one of my favourite parts.
“But filming it, this guy’s sweating under your eye line, they get the hand up to touch your face and then it sticks to your hair and pulls a little bit.
“You’re like, ‘Ugh! Get that thing off me. Get me a baby, this is ridiculous.’ It had hair and it’s a newborn baby.”
Robert Pattinson – who plays the baby’s vampire father Edward – was also repulsed by the artificial baby as it looked like something from a horror movie.
He is quoted by the Daily Record newspaper: “It’s Chucky from ‘Child’s Play’!”
Bella and Edward’s daughter, who they name Renesmee Carlie Cullen, grows much faster than other children and Kristen admits filming with some of the child stars was tough because they were bigger than her.
The 5ft 6in beauty said: “Occasionally I couldn’t pick up the kid.”
Pamela Anderson is to release her own range of lingerie.
The former ‘Baywatch’ babe – who recently launched a collection of stockings – has signed a global licensing deal with Secrets in Lace to produce, market and distribute the line and ahs promised buyers won’t be disappointed.
The mother-of-two told WWD: “I am very pleased with the initial collection. I love every one of the styles because they cover every fashion occasion. I’ve always loved lingerie. I like to dress up. Fantasy is something I respond to. There’s a time and a place. Usually if I can’t find a place, it’s not worth my time.
“I have an incredibly diverse collection of lingerie. I actually have too much tucked away in storage. I haven’t bought lingerie in a long time – building my house took much longer than it should have. Now it’s done, it will be a wild playground soon enough, my lair, my boudoir. Anyone who enters – beware.”
Daniel Whitsett, president of Secrets in Lace, added: “We liked the idea that Pam is very into being a mom with two boys and very into being a woman. We’ve been very active and successful with retro looks. All of our 15-denier and 10-denier stockings are made with machinery from the 1950s, and the yarn is 100 percent nylon because Lycra can’t be used with these machines. We like to say ‘guaranteed to run’ because the deniers are so fine.”
With the iPad becoming more of a staple item in people’s lives these days – I sure would like the third generation iPad that is rumoured to be announced in not too long – one dilemma us women will face is where and how to bring it with you. It’s not big enough to warrant its own over-the-shoulder full-on laptop case, it’s too small to keep in the pocket of your blazer, and while that designer bag fits it perfectly you have to be careful of keys scratching the screen.
Luckily, there are quite a few iPad covers available to keep your favourite gadget scratch and smudge free while still looking fashionable. So whatever you are after, I’m sure you’ll find the iPad case that is just right…
Look chic with these gorgeous iPad cases from Capulet London. Prices start at £240.
Christina Hendricks will design her own line of swimwear.
The ‘Mad Men’ actress is known for her curvy figure, but has revealed in the past her fuller chest and small waist make it difficult to source suitable beachwear and as a result she has decided to create her own collection.
An insider told The Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Christina is a US size 10 and weighs 154lbs but she can’t find a swimsuit that compliments her figure. So she started designing her own and is in talks to sign a deal. She loves her curves and doesn’t want to lose weight.
“She wanted to create something other women can wear too. The plan is to start with swimwear and move into underwear and her own clothing line.”
Christina has previously complained about the difficulty in finding suitable swimwear for her fuller figure.
She said: “It’s really hard to find a bathing suit if you have breasts. You either get smooshed down or there’s no support.”
The 36-year-old actress also revealed her problems extend to finding dresses to wear to red carpet events.
She added: “I have to be careful about my proportions and keep it simple. What works for me is structure and something that shows my waist.
“No one will send me dresses. Designers loan size 2 or 4 samples to actresses, but I’m not that size.
“It’s like I’m a freak because I’m curvy and I can’t squeeze into those things. I’ve had some problems with that.”
Diane von Furstenberg was thrilled when she discovered Duchess Catherine had purchased one of dresses.
The 64-year-old designer is a huge fan of the brunette beauty – who married Prince William in April – and is happy her creations have been given the royal seal of approval.
She said: “I was just told that the Duchess of Cambridge bought one of my dresses yesterday! She bought an apple green V-back dress and that little ponyskin clutch from my shop – plus the day before she bought another DVF dress in Selfridges.”
Diane is very impressed by the way Catherine handles herself and thinks she’ll be fine, despite the public scrutiny and pressure she is under.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “She wears DVF so I think she has great style! Look, I think it’s a lot of pressure to marry Prince William, to be the daughter-in-law of Lady Di, but she seems really strong and they seem to really love each other so I just wish them the best. She has a beautiful smile – I think she can handle it. But what’s also very impressive is how at ease he is with her. I think it will only make her more and more confident – and as long as she doesn’t lose that, she will become more and more beautiful.”
Emma Watson is most proud of the outfit she wore to a ‘Harry Potter’ premiere aged 14.
The 21-year-old actress walked the red carpet for ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ in a vintage purple gown and says the dress will always be “special” to her because of the effort she made in creating a distinctive look.
She recalled: “I’ve loved every dress I’ve worn for a premiere but probably the best is the purple dress from the 1920s.
“My mum and I found it in a vintage shop. It was torn but we had it repaired. The one rip we couldn’t mend we covered with a corsage.
“We dyed shoes to match and found vintage silk flowers for my hair. That was the first time I felt I was creating my own look so, although it wasn’t perfect by any means, that dress will always be special to me.”
Emma is a fan of “modern” designers but also loves simple garments for everyday wear.
She added: “I love modern designers like Alberta Ferretti. And right now, I’m very big on Valentino. But for everyday wear, the items I couldn’t live without are a pair of basic black cropped trousers and a pair of ballet pumps.
“You can’t go wrong with those – they’re the basis of everything.”
