Bargain POTW FP skirt.jpg

This Free People black corduroy ruffle pencil skirt is just perfect for fall, and on sale right now on Rue La La for $39, down from $98.

You do need an invitation to shop on Rue La La, so email andrea@shinymedia.com if you want one. I'm always happy to pass along sales!

The skirt is cotton/spandex and features a black grosgrain ribbon insert down the front.

Bargain POTW.jpg

This one requires a stretch of some people's definition of "bargain," but everyone wants a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

With zipper details and a turnlock closure, the Rudy Totally Turlock Shoulder Bucket is on-trend for fall, and is on sale for $179 down from $250.

Even with these trendy details, the bucket silhouette is one you'll carry forever and the name is one that will still be meaningful five years from now.

What more could you ask of the Barneys sale?

Kimchi Blue No Direction Home Dress.jpg

One of the wonders of the seasonless dressing we're all so fond of is picking from the end of season sales for the very next season.

Pair this Kimchi Blue No Direction Home Dress, $39.99 down from $68, with tights and a cardi and you know you'll wear it through the fall.

Plus, we think this dress looks like it cost more than $68 anyway. It's cotton, trimmed with raw-edge ruffles and a button placket at the chest. The drawstring belt at the waist gives it a cute silhouette.

Tommy cardi.jpg

If back-to-school time still gives you preppy flutters in your tummy (even if you're no longer starting classes) this Tommy Hilfiger cardigan might be right up your alley.

The Lawrence cardigan, on sale for $39, definitely has a dose of Gossip Girl style, with a sleek collegiate look. Wear it full-on prep school with a button-down shirt and blazer, or play down that aspect with a plain top, jeans and tough boots. Either way the diagonal stripes will be flattering.

For those actually hitting the books this fall (and those still paying off their debt for the opportunity) might not find $39 to be a bargain. But look at it this way, you'd probably pay $40 full price for a sweater you really like, and Tommy's knits last a long time.

organic pregnancy tee.jpg

This adorable T-shirt is enough to make us wish we we had a baby bump (almost).

The 100% organic baby tee, $22, comes in chocolate brown and reads "100% organic all natural eco friendly ingredients."

The tee is from Etsy, where the seller - Flaunt It - has lots of cool maternity wear.

Bargain POTW dress.jpg

I might have a little too much on top to pull off this ruffly, pleated bodice. But that's the great thing about my job - if I love something but it's not right for me I get to share it with all of you!

Rogan beach towel.jpg

We're headed to the shore on Saturday for the first time this season, so we've got sun and sand on our minds.

So we were all about the beach accessories when searching for our Bargain Pick of the Week and we came up with this leopard-print beach towel by Rogan for Target Go International.

American living skirt 2.jpg

We gave you a look at the American Living collection designed by Ralph Lauren for J.C. Penney when it first came out.

Well now we've got one of their sale offerings for you to check out. This pleated full skirt is $60, down from $80.

The lightweight cotton skirt definitely has the Ralph Lauren feel, as does most of the line.

The prices aren't as low as most J.C. Penney fare, probably because the quality is definitely higher. But is better than you'd do on regular Ralph Lauren items.

Old Navy neon nights.jpg

We're really digging the colors and patterns on the dresses in Old Navy's new neon nights collection.

The georgette halter dress, shown on left in the allover print, could go everywhere from a graduation party to chic seaside dinner. It's just $39.50.

The halter dress on the right, $34.50, is a little sweeter and more casual. Run errands or hang around the house in style.

Forever 21 Eadlin SS jacket

Forever 21 jacket copy.jpg

Since our bargain pick of the week wasn't as cheap as we usually keep it because of our eco-friendly stipulation, we thought we'd also show you this Forever 21 Eadlin SS jacket, $14.50.

Even Forever 21 knows what a deal they're giving you, since this is listed as a brilliant buy.

This and a few similar jackets on Forever 21's site would be perfectly appropriate for work, but would also lend polish to a shorts and T-shirt ensemble.

C&C California dress.jpg

Unfortunately, organic and ethically made clothing doesn't usually come cheap, or else it wouldn't be such a struggle getting designers and retailers to clue in.

But we wanted to bring you more than a t-shirt, and something less than $100 to qualify as a bargain (we usually shoot for less than $50, but this is a special occasion).

And so we found this organic french terry dress from C&C California, on sale for $69.

Bargain Pick Of the Week: PacSun T-shirts $9.99

If you're looking to stock up on some cute and comfy T-shirts for spring and summer, PacSun has some cute options from Kirra on sale for $9.99.

Bargain scarf.jpg

You can't open a tabloid without seeing a celebrity draped in a gauzy scarf for spring. Our pick? This Apt. 9 dip-dye linen scarf from Kohl's.

Also available in beige and olive, the style mimicks the ombre fabrics so popular this season. At only $11.99 it's a great piece to punch up a casual outfit.

Bargain Pick of the Week: Target scarves

Target%20scarves.jpg

While scarves are a good way to get a little piece of a luxury brand, like Hermes, they can also be cheapie accessories that allow you to switch up your look to stock up on.

Obviously, the two scarves at left, from Target for $8.99, aren't made of silk - more like polyester. But the color combinations could be really great for spring, especially with a white top or dress.

I'm always impressed with the cute prints and wide variety of scarves at Target, they're usually by the belts. So be sure to peruse the selection next time you're there.

Bargain Pick of the Week: Prada fabric bag

Prada%20bag.jpg

This is another one of those bargain picks where the term bargain is relative. This Prada fabric bag is on sale for about half off at $468. The chain handle and details on this bag make it look more expensive than it is, and we like that it's a brown evening bag instead of a black one. It's something you might not already have in your closet and a little more distinctive.
