Sainsbury’s is delighted to unveil Gok Wan’s first womenswear collection – Gok for TU. The collection, which hits stores today (Thursday 6th October), reflects Gok’s philosophy of making women feel confident, stylish and positive about their bodies, whatever their budget, size or shape.
Gok for TU is a capsule collection that cleverly combines key basics with strong statement pieces – all designed with shape enhancing properties. Prices range from £20.00 to £45.00. The colour palette reflects the autumn season; rich red, teal and terracotta are mixed with statement black. Speaking at the preview, Gok Wan said: “I’m so unbelievably excited to reveal further details about my debut for Sainsbury’s.
With these clothes, I want women to flirt, flaunt and celebrate their curves. I’ve spent the last few months working through every detail and believe we’ve delivered attainable and affordable design like never before.”
Geraldine Higgins, Sainsbury’s Head of Womenswear Buying said: “Since announcing our partnership with Gok earlier this year we’ve been overwhelmed with positive reactions from our customers and colleagues. Everyone can now put Thursday 6th October in their diary to get Gok’d!” Gok for TU comprises 13 styles, totalling 28 garments, when including multiple colourways. Kate Moss has launched her first jewellery collection at Paris Fashion Week.
The British supermodel – who has already collaborated with High Street store Topshop and French label Longchamp to create fashion and handbag lines – celebrated the debut of Kate Moss for Fred at the iconic Ritz Hotel with shoe designer Christian Louboutin accompanying her as her date.
According to WWD, the 22-piece collection features necklaces, rings and earrings based on the model’s tattoos and an anchor, a star and a crescent moon feature among the designs.
Sold online and through luxury department store Harrods in the UK, the line ranges in price from £400 and £40,000.
Meanwhile, Kate made her return to the Parisian catwalk earlier today (04.10.11) when she closed the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2012 show – headed up by designer Marc Jacobs, a close friend of the star – wearing a white laser-cut feathered mini-dress.
The likes of Nicole Richie, Uma Thurman and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour turned out to see Kate walk the runway for Louis Vuitton for the first time since she caused a stir at the autumn/winter 2011 show by smoking a cigarette while walking down the catwalk wearing tiny leather hotpants.

Lea Michele never listens to fashion advice.
The Glee actress says she was told by the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, not to wear black for her first Golden Globe Awards but decided against his tip.
She told InStyle.com: “Ryan Murphy had told me, ‘Don’t wear black. You should never wear black. So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colours.”
“As I’m walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in her closet. I said ‘I’m wearing that.’ And I called Ryan, and said ‘Ryan, I’m wearing black!’ ”
However, it seems Ryan wasn’t upset about Lea not taking his advice as he recently praised her fashion choices.
He said: “When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes- but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”

Although we love the latest trends over here at ShinyStyle, sometimes we like to cast our minds a little bit further afield. And today is one of those days.
After seeing X Factor’s Kitty wearing an LED light leotard during bootcamp we began to think about how this technology has firmly wormed its way into the fashion world.
Most of this can be blamed on Katy Perry who kicked started this look way back in 2009 when she wore a purple frock complete with LED light detailing from designers Cute Circuit. She has since been spotted in a range of these at events ranging from premieres to the MET Gala.
And her style choice has filtered down to other celebrities. Queen of quirk Lady Gaga opted for an LED light outfit for her tour, while Katy’s BFF Rihanna took a leaf out of her style book and was spotted in a black and red LED frock during her concert.
And its not just the celebrity world that’s gone mad over this trend with the likes of Atton Conrad and Hussein Chalayan also opting for this look for part of their catwalk collections.
Will you be wearing this style? View the gallery and let us know by leaving your comments below.

Kate Bosworth has an “effortless approach” to fashion.
The stunning actress is often voted one of the world’s best-dressed women and her stylist, Cher Coulter, believes it’s because she has fun with what she wears and is willing to be risky.
Cher told People: “She’s got this effortless approach to style, and never overdoes it. She’s also fun and fashionable and willing to take risks. She’s simple, chic and always looks happy in what she’s wearing.”
Cher also says Kate can look good in both casual and smart clothes because she has the face and body to carry it off.
She said: “We like to get creative with current trends, but Kate has to feel good and comfortable.
“Kate loves denim because it’s easy and casual. She always wears denim to remain comfy while running around town. On the flip side, she also loves to dress up denim by pairing it with a silky button-up and a necklace slung just under the shirt collar. Kate’s a chameleon – she can wear anything!”

The stars stepped out last night in sparkles and skyscraper heels to celebrate the Pride of Britain Awards.
Cheryl Cole made her first big public appearance since the whole X Factor US debacle, showing us she was still bang on trend with a pink slinky dress by Victoria Beckham, while bandmate Nicola Roberts also went for an ethereal frock in a similar hue.
The TOWIE cast were also out in force with Amy Childs opting for a blue strapless long frock. She was joined by Sam and Jessica who kept it classic in black frocks.
And black was also the order of the day for Kimberley Walsh who looked stunning in a long black dress with lace sleeves, Coleen Rooney, Holly Willoughby and Emma Bunton.
Brightening up the red carpet was X Factor judge Tulisa who went for a patterned netted frock. See all the fashions in the gallery below.

You know you’ve made it when you get a covert spot in Madame Tussauds, so we assume Rihanna must be on cloud nine following the unveiling of her waxwork doppelganger.
Unlike some of the models at the museum, RiRi’s waxwork, which takes centre stage in the interactive Music Zone alongside Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga and the late Amy Winehouse, is a good resemblance to the star.
And it also shows off her sexy style perfectly, with a long black dress complete with raunchy side split, which the star wore to perform her duet with Matt Cardle on the UK final of ‘The X Factor’ last year. Her look was finished off with the statement RiRi red hair.
The figure took four months to complete and cost £150,000.
See all the pics below.

Fearne Cotton was already nailing next season's pastel trend at LFW in a pretty lilac maxi dress with contrasting fuschia lips and leopard-print heels. Who knew it would work so well?
We love how when LFW rolls around, absolutely all the celebrities make a huge effort – even if they try to act all “oh, this old thing?” about their outfits when they’re there. Everyone’s favourite annoying radio presenter Fearne Cotton is no exception, as she wafted in to London Fashion Week yesterday to show off her new collection of designs for Very.co.uk in a gorgeous lilac maxi (we have to find out where she get it from).
Clever Fearne may just be the absolute queen of contrasting different shades and colours – after all, lilac is not the easiest colour to co-ordinate – but the tattooed nostril-ed one pulled it off with an elegant vintage bob and a plummy fuschia lipstick to contrast with the sugary tones of her dress. Adding a rock and roll twist were a pair of perfect leopard-print heels on her feet, which were teamed with a zinging yellow pedicure for a fun, playful look. We love.
We can’t find the maxi that Fearne wore (WHERE IS IT FROM??? I NEED IT!!), but there are still plenty of lilac beauties available on the high street that are great for a girlie party look. The star of this gallery, though, has to be Topshop for it’s amazing make-up range, which offers a whole rainbow of different colours of nail polishes and lips – thanks to Toppers for making the perfect fuschia lipstick just like Fearne’s, which you can find in the gallery above.

What is it about celebrities wanting to have a little bit of a go at absolutely everything these days? First we have Katie Price turning her hand to editor as she launches a magazine that is, hilariously, all about her, and now Cheryl Cole has revealed that her new shoe collection has inspired her to turn to fashion design.
Cheryl, who’s just launched her new shoe collection with the website StylistPick.com, said when asked about a potential foray into fashion: “Do you know what? I wouldn’t rule it out, actually. I have loved designing these shoes. I haven’t enjoyed a project so much in a long time. So, yes, it might be the start of something.”
To me there’s something mildly annoying about celebrities trying to turn their hands to creative industries such as fashion – other popular celebrity sidelines being acting, writing novels and perfumes – as if all the auto-tuning and clever styling that these people have has made them suddenly believe their own hype. Or am I just being mean about Cheryl Cole? Maybe I am just grumpy today.
Who knows if Cheryl has it in her to be a fashion designer. Maybe, just maybe, she will be like Victoria Beckham and amaze us. But then again, maybe it will just be crap.

The Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has admitted that in the past she’s worn far too much makeup – so now, it’s all about the natural look for her. (Though it’s extremely easy to say you prefer natural beauty when you yourself have one of the most perfect faces in Hollywood, eh Emma?)
Emma said: “The funny thing about me is that I do have a lot of products – I’ve always loved make-up and its ability to transform you. But I don’t actually wear a lot of it, so there is an irony that I own so much of it but wear so little. But I do love beauty products. But wearing too much make-up has been my biggest beauty faux-pas. I truly, truly believe that beauty is something that comes from within. You can only really look beautiful if you feel beautiful on the inside. It shows through your face, the way you move and the way you hold yourself.”
Aww, all together girls – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
And Emma’s best tip for outer beauty (the inner bit we’ll have to figure out ourselves)? “Don’t over-pluck your eyebrows and always take your make-up off before you got to bed.” Sound advice indeed.

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks showed off her killer curves in a classic Hollywood silver silk gown with beautiful crystal detailing
Fashion Week may be over for the Yanks, with the fun having crossed over the pond to Laaahn-dahn, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing going on in the States, oh no – in fact, while we were all poring over the latest Henry Holland collection on the Vogue site last night, apparently a little something called the Emmy Awards was going on..
All the long-standing Hollywood superstars were there as well as the young talent: I don’t know if Lea Michele was trying to copy Kate Winslet, who’s clearly been in the red-carpet game for a long time, or what, but the young Glee actress turned up smouldering in a simple scarlet evening dress that was actually very similar to Kate’s Emmy dress. We hope they hit each other with their handbags later in the evening.
Another Glee star in attendance was the adorable Jayma Mays, who was definitely channelling a ballerina vibe in her long ruffled and tiered sugar-pink gown which worked perfectly with her strawberry-blonde hair and berry lips. Following suit with a romantic, feminine look was Heidi Klum with her hubby Seal, showing off a crazy post-summer tan in a statement ruffled nude cocktail dress.
Opting for a more classic Hollywood vibe (it is the Emmys, after all) was the beautiful Christina Hendricks, who, fresh from causing a stir with her impressive cleavage at the première of I Don’t Know How She Does It last week, smouldered last night in an incredible slit-skirt silver evening gown covered in crystalline embellishments for a look reminiscent of old movie stars like Jean Harlow. We love. To be honest, we’re so obsessed with the woman that we might go dye our hair red and eat a tub of Ben & Jerry’s right now.
Also taking the old Hollywood fashion path was Gwyneth Paltrow, who showed off her enviably tight abs in a floor-sweeping black beaded dress with a cutout at the midriff. Pretty much all we need to say about that is that Gwynnie looked in-cred-i-ble.
To see who we spotted at the Emmy Awards yesterday, and what the stars were wearing, check out the gallery above.

Kelly Brook unveils PETA campaign
Kelly Brook unveils her new PETA campaign targeting exotic-skins trade in Covent Garden, London, on the eve of London Fashion Week.
Kelly Brook unveils her campaign for PETA targeting the exotic skins trade on the eve of London Fashion Week in Covent Garden, London.
The 31 year old model was shot with a snakeskin painted onto her body by singer Bryan Adams for the animal rights group in order to highlight the cruelty suffered by reptiles that are killed for their skin.
Brook says: “It makes my skin crawl to think about the violent ways snakes, lizards, alligators and other exotic creatures are raised and killed for boots, bags and belts.”
