We’re big offenders of loving the glossy fashion mags despite all the trees they waste and all the terrific content online. But the eco-chicks chastise us, and now we’ve found a great outlet for our magazine lust that doesn’t require a subscription.

VivaTerra, a great online store for a whole variety of environmentally and ethically responsible products has launched an online magazine ecosalon. With fashion, decor, wellness, artisan and lifestyle sections there’s plenty to read and discover.

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on April 21st, 2008

Petites, tall women, and almost everyone in between have to battle to find the perfect length in pants and jeans.

Instead of spending hours in the dressing room with about 20 pairs of jeans, or having almost every pair you own hemmed at the tailor, perhaps you should give searchbyinseam.com a go.

Rachel Bilson answers tween dreams by launching clothing line with DKNY

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on March 13th, 2008

Rachel Bilson has one of the most sought-after and oft-copied personal styles in young Hollywood, not to mention one of the least tacky and most age-appropriate. So we’re thrilled that the former O.C. babe has teamed up with someone else familiar to the teen market – DKNY Jeans.

Bilson and DKNY Jeans are set to collaborate on a junior sportswear line called Edie Rose. (Just like Kohls and Avril Lavigne, Bilson’s won’t be on the label … interesting. More on that over at Catwalk Queen.)

But don’t worry, Bilson won’t be completely invisible, she will star in the advertising to debut this fall.

“I am just amazed at how the team at DKNY Jeans were able to listen to my ideas and come out with exactly what I was talking about. They literally brought my ideas to life,” Bilson told WWD. “I also want to show people that you don’t have to pay a million dollars for clothes that look good. You don’t have to spend a lot to get a great look.”

The Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans label will consist of a 15-piece collection featuring button-down tops, sweaters, jackets, T-shirts, dresses and two jeans styles – a straight leg and a skinny leg.

Chip and Pepper talk inspiration

By Andrea Thatcher on January 24th, 2008

Deisgner denim duo Chip and Pepper were recently interviewed over at The Fashion Informer. Amidst saying each others names and talking about hockey an inordinate amount, they also talked about the success of their empire and what inspires them.

“We always take the things that inspire us and try and incorporate those things into the line,” Pepper said.

Chip added “I could never picture doing anything else. Designing clothes and having a company with my brother is all I want to do; and it’s what I was meant to do.”
