Versace for H&M Cruise Collection

If you’re lucky enough to have Santa showering you with money this year then we recommend you store it away in safe place until the middle of January.

Yes, we know the sales will be tempting but holding out will mean you’ll have more pennies to spend on the Versace for H&M Cruise Collection, which hits the web at midnight on the 19 January.

The range is perfect for stocking up that Summer wardrobe with a cute mix of florals, quirky cherry prints and pastel colours, which form the traditional style Versace dresses.
If you were unlucky and missed out on the previous collection then get that laptop charged and those fingers at the ready. We don’t think this collection will hang around for long.

The high street retailer are joining forces with the Italian fashion house for their latest designer collaboration, with the label’s Founder and Creative Director Consuelo Castiglioni creating affordable men and womenswear for the company’s spring collection.

Speaking about the collection, Consuelo said: “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”.

The collection will go on sale on March 8 in 260 stores worldwide and online and H&M are thrilled with the products.

Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor for H&M said: “We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will do the same. Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It’s fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece. The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring.”

The Marni collection is the latest designer collaboration for H&M, having previously teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garcons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace.

Joining Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby, who both design for the brand, Whitney is the face of the Autumn Winter 2011/12 capsule collection for the Love Label and Love Label Luxe.

The collection is very seventies inspired and is part glam, part hippie. We’re big fans of Very’s Love label as it offers affordable yet beautiful designs. Love Label prices range from £8 to £75 and Love Label Luxe ranges from £38 to £120.

Trish Summerville has created all the outfits for Lisbeth (played by Rooney Mara) in the US adaptation of the Swedish film and she revealed she jumped at the chance to give the troubled heroine’s clothes a more “realistic fashion feel” for the Swedish retailer.

She told WWD: “We put a lot of aged-in washes and finishes, which goes along the lines of the Salander character. In the film, her clothes are quite extreme. They’re really worn down, they’re dirty. So for us, it was taking that kind of concept and giving it more of a realistic fashion feel.”

Anna Norling, division designer at H&M, said the company wanted to make Lisbeth’s clothes more flattering and feminine.

She explained: “We were really strongly inspired by the film and especially by Trish’s styling, but the collection wouldn’t have looked as it does without H&M, because we added the fashion point of view. I’m very happy with the result and I know that Trish is as well.”

Items in the range include tribal-style earrings, a leather jacket, which comes in washed black or deep burgundy, hoodies and lace-up boots.

The collection will make its debut at Paris boutique Colette on November 28.

Versace for H&M

The collection has taken inspiration from past collections by the Italian fashion house.

The luxurious label – headed up by Donatella Versace – has teamed up with the Swedish high street brand to create a collection, which will include menswear, womenswear and homeware and Donatella promised it will show the “essence of Versace”.

She said: “The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own.”

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M – who has masterminded collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garcons and Jimmy Choo in the past – has previously promised the collection would be “glamorous and flamboyant – everything Versace stands for”.

She said: “Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant – everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season.”

The collection will go on sale on November 17 and will be followed by a pre-spring collection that will be available online from January 19.

Cheryl, everyone’s favourite Geordie lass, is collaborating with the fashion site StylistPick.com to create her new line of limited edition shoes – and it’ll go on sale in December. We’re usually sceptical about celebrities attempting fashion design but we might leave a space on our Christmas lists, just in case..

StylistPick’s creative officer Juliet Warkentin said: “We are thrilled to be working with Cheryl. Cheryl is the style icon and is amazingly warm, a quality that has made her the nation’s favourite. We believe that the launch will have a huge fashion impact; establishing fashion’s greatest influencer as a major force in fashion design and further democratising fashion.”

Lovely little Cheryl has remembered that her fans aren’t as rich as she is and made the collection affordable as well as glam, having overseen the entire design process herself “from concept to design and packaging”.

A bit of a fashion happening yesterday on the streets of New York as two icons met for a fashion shoot: Annie Leibowitz photographing Mother Monster Lady Gaga herself.

We haven’t seen the final results of the shoot yesterday but we do have these amazing paparazzi snaps taken at the high-fashion shoot which show Gaga standing regally on the streets of New York in haute couture, coyly hiding her body with a giant black feather hat and throwing her head back to show off her couture eye-candy headwear. We have to say, it does look really fun posing for Annie Leibowitz.

You definitely know you’re a superstar when you’ve posed for Mama Leibowitz, who’s taken some of the most famous celebrity portraits in the world. A pregnant Demi Moore? Shot by Leibowitz. John Lennon curled serene naked around Yoko on the floor? Yep, shot by Leibowitz. Miley Cyrus posing coyly wearing nothing but a sheet? Yup, that was shot by Leibowitz.

We can’t wait to see the final outcome of this photoshoot. We reckon this is going to be a celebrity portrait to remember.

Steve Madden, who holds the North American license for the brand, said on this new merging of minds: “We do a lot of business with Mary-Kate and Ashley. They’ve become friends.”

Surprisingly, the plucky enterprising twins actually approached Superga about the project, instead of the other way round. Ashley spoke out about their new footwear plans: “We were at a meeting with Steve, and we were wearing Supergas – two years later, it kind of fell into our lap. I really don’t think there’s anything like this brand. It’s a tennis-shoe brand with 100 years under its belt. Superga is really a luxurious brand. We are really hoping to bring it back to its roots.”

We absolutely can’t wait to see what Mary-Kate and Ashley come up with for their S/S designs..
