Keds footwear launches limited edition trainers in support of Breast Cancer.

By Andrea Petrou on October 13th, 2009

Keds.jpgAfter our last post, we’ve decided to have a little bit of a fashion charity theme today, after all what’s better than buying something without feeling guilty?

Next on our charity fashion mission are these cute shoes from Keds.

The trainer company popular in America, and who once had Mischa Barton as the face of the brand, have launched a plimsoll style shoe to support Breast Cancer research and Breast Cancer awareness month.

It says that all proceeds for the limited-edition Pink Ribbon Champion trainer will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Do your good deed for the day and order your pair from the Keds website.

Gap launches Channel Pierre Hardy boots and we find a cheaper alternative

By Andrea Petrou on October 8th, 2009

Channel Pierre Hardy.JPGFashionistas have been falling over themselves to get their hands on Channel Pierre Hardy’s boots for Gap.

One magazine editor has also admitted her team have a good few pairs each of these fur lined suede marvels, and we can see why. They are gorgeous.

The boots, which cost £108, aren’t cheap but this hasn’t deterred many people as they stampede to get their hands on a pair.

So we’ve had a little look around to try and find something similar, and of course at a much cheaper price. Cue these little gems from Clarks Originals.

They may not have the buckle detailing or height of Gap’s boots but for £89 this fur lined footwear, in a range of soft autumnal shades, could make a good alternative.

By Andrea Petrou on September 30th, 2009

Matalan.jpgFashion can be a tricky thing. You want the season’s latest trends but the year after your wardrobe is full of expensive shoes, dresses and accessories that look more apt in a charity shop than on you. And, let’s admit it; it’s kind of a waste of money.

CocoRose launches flat footwear in a bag for when heels get too much

By Andrea Petrou on September 29th, 2009

IMG_7329r2.jpgIt’s good news for us girls who don’t like wearing heels because flats are officially in. yes we know ballet style pumps have been around for ages but we really do have an excuse to keep them on.

We have permission to follow in the footsteps of US Vogue’s style icon Anna Wintour this season and walk tall in the fashion stakes by opting for flats.

Ever since Ms Wintour stepped out at a party in the Hamptons without her trademark sky heels, the clamour for gorgeous flats has been resounding.

Vogue’s editor-at-large, Leon Talley, has even criticised ‘towering torture chambers’ and called on ladies to find a new way to define their silhouette.

However, if you’re one of those lucky girls who can walk in these high shoes and want to stay on top of the flat trend then you might like this footwear range by CocoRose.

The Sugar and Spice range are a collection of flats folded in a little purse. Perfect for when a night on the towers takes it toll.

Once you have taken the shoes out the purse’s back pocket then pulls out to become a satin, shoulder bag in which pop the heels.

Geox launches limited run of shoes. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

By Andrea Petrou on September 23rd, 2009

Donna Annette_D9378A 21 C9999.jpgLet’s admit it, we’ve all had one of those days where we’ve turned up in a bar or to a friend’s dinner in what we thought was an original piece of clothing, only to find another girl wearing exactly the same thing.

If you are the kind of girl who hates this happening and want to stand out from the crowd without paying a fortune for couture clothing then we suggest you head down to Geox.

The Italian footwear company is launching a limited run of footwear styles available exclusively from their 7 monobrand stores across the UK.

From 15th October 2009, the Limited Edition Flash collection will launch in Geox standalone stores and will be made up of four women’s wear styles.

However, there’s a twist as each Geox store will only stock one of each size in each style, meaning you’ll not only be one of a few with the show but you’ll need to be quick to get hold of these fashion fancies.

Choices include suede boots, including a fashion forward over the knee style, to a patent leopard print court, we say get queuing from now. Donna Roslyn D93u3Q FY C6021.jpg

Cat Footwear vs Jimmy Choo

By Andrea Petrou on September 18th, 2009

Thumbnail image for Outlaw.jpgI love my designer shoes and boots as much as the next girl, but with the economy closing in, it’s sometimes hard to justify (to the bank manager) why I’ve spent my monthly allowance on a pair of shoes.

They don’t seem to understand that girls need these as much as the human race needs water (well slight exaggeration there) do they?

However, I’ve come to realise that high street retailers do have similar ranges to that of designers and these boots by Cat footwear are a perfect example.

Priced at £94.99 they are a much better price than these £695 Jimmy Choo boots (pictured below) and almost identical.

Where footwear launches studded shoes for biker chic look

By Andrea Petrou on September 14th, 2009

STUDS.jpgForget the cute flirty prints of the summer. It’s time to throw on the zipped up jackets, tight trousers. Yes that’s right; one of this year’s key trends is biker Chic.

Think leather, silver zips and studs on your footwear. Now we will be bringing you a range of these different looks throughout the week but we thought we’d start with this gorgeous range from WHERE.

We love these platform wedges, which will give you studs and sophistication.
The range, which will be out on 28 September is available online or at Office and Poste Mistress and prices range from £95 to £150.

Get the look: Marc Jacobs boots

By Andrea Petrou on September 10th, 2009

marcjacobs fur bootsDespite what anyone else says, I love my Uggs. They keep me warm, they’re comfortable and I’d defend them to the end.

Well, that’s until I spotted these mid-calf, tie-detail fur boots all over the Marc Jacobs Catwalk for Autumn/Winter2009 (well fashion’s fickle isn’t it).

Now I can’t tell you how much these cost yet, but I imagine it would take a good many months of saving to get a pair of these beautiful boots, so I had a scout around and spotted this similar pair from Spanish brand, ART Footwear.

I think they’d look amazing with baggy jeans or tracksuit bottoms (did I say that out loud) tucked in. However those with more sophisticated taste can also wear with baggy tailored trousers for the ultimatelook in utility Chic. They cost a very reasonable £140.

Review : Scholl Party Feet Snowflake Limited Edition

By Andrea Petrou on September 9th, 2009

Scholl Party Feet Snowflake Invisible Gel Cushion.JPGNow I’m not a girl that can wear heels, in fact many of my beautiful boots and sandals have lain discarded in my wardrobe for a number of years and been slowly replaced by flats, flip flops and trainers.

Even going out means an extra pair of flats to change into after a couple of hours. So when Scholl sent me it’s new Party Feet snowflake limited edition range, which are placed in the front of your shoe to prevent that horrible pain you get when wearing heels, I was understandably unconvinced.

Yes they looked nice and sparkly but do they really do the job? I took them on a night out with my heels to find out.

Putting them into my shoes was a bit tricky. They were extremely sticky and stuck to every part of the inside of my shoe and when I had finally got past that hurdle the next problem arose.
Because they sit in the front of your shoe, they make the gap between your feet smaller, meaning the shoes can feel a little tight. I was ready to pack my trusty flip flops but I soldiered on.

For research purposes (of course) I decided to go to a bar, where seating is a luxury, meaning I would be have to stand all night. An hour into the eve and I felt the familiar twinge of pain, that only standing with heels on would give.

However, I was surprised after that I didn’t feel a thing, especially during the 10 minute walk home, which normally would have crippled me had I not had the Party feet on.

The real test came the next day however. I don’t know about you but when I wear heels the night before, I always get pains in my calves, however, it seems the Party Feet did actually work, because there was none of that the morning after.

The only thing I would say is that the tops of my feet were a little bit sore from where they had been pushing on the tops of my shoes.

Party Feet have made me think again about wearing heels, and I’m pleased to say they actually did work and because they can be used again and again I think I’ve found my sole mate for life.

Footwear to help us with the summer to winter shoe transition

By Andrea Petrou on August 27th, 2009

Jinga Originals Gunmetal Pink Trainer.JPGWith the winter fast approaching it will soon be time to pack away our Haviana’s and get out feet into footwear that will hopefully save our toes from frost bite.

Yes we know, it’s depressing, but if you’re not quite yet ready to part with your summer style, then we have found something that may ease the transition.

Jinga trainers are the latest Brazilian footwear to walk onto our shores and are perfect for us Haviana wearing girls who love a bit of retro Brazilian.

Now we know what you’re thinking, trainers are hardly a big fashion statement, but let’s be honest we all need a nice funky pair and these trainers not only look stylish but also come in a range of colours, from white to pink and grey.

Oh, and they won’t feel that much different from your flip flops either. Why? Because the company claims that these trainers give you the feeling of being barefoot because of the slim sole.

What’s more, all Jinga’s are ethically made and certified by the Vegan Society making them light on your feet and your conscience.
They cost £39.

Move over Uggs, there’s a new winter boot in town

By Andrea Petrou on August 18th, 2009

kau location-366-2.jpgLove them or hate them there’s no denying that sheepskin Ugg boots are a must have every year.

However, there’s a new kid on the block and it’s looking like it may become leader of the pack (or flock.)

If you’re a fashion girl that doesn’t like to follow the herd, then these Kau Boots will heat up your heart as much as they do your feet. Why? Because, the company claims that every pair is completely different as they are made from individually hand selected hide.

And it doesn’t end there. Kau offers three different heights and seven colour options including black leather, mainly brown, brown and white and black and white. You can also pick from three different linings and two different soles.

Those that want to make their boots that extra bit special can also opt for the tailored option, which means getting arty by drawing around your feet and sending it off to the company. And the best thing is it will only set you back an extra £20.

The boots range from £199.99 – £279.99.

Kandee collection for those with a sweet tooth for shoes

By Andrea Petrou on August 17th, 2009

Kandee Dippa Stick.jpgIf, like me, you have a sweet tooth for shoes then you’ll love Kandee’s new collection, which has been aptly nicknamed the Refresher range. The collection has me fizzing with excitement, offering brightly coloured, kitsch style shoes, which are perfect for the summer.
We love the white and pastel pink 5 inch heeled platforms, known as the Bubbly Gum shoes, which we think are definitely worth blowing £108 on.

Likewise, the Fruit Belt heels, which although are so brightly coloured, you may need sunglasses to look at them, are also perfect for those who had a penchant for cramming as many different flavoured sweets in our mouth at the same time (or was that just me).

However the icing on top of this collection is without a doubt the Dippa Stick Boot. Like with its liquorice namesake sweet, you will love it or hate it, but with the black patent top complimented by a bright yellow heel, we can’t see what there isn’t to like

Sweet styled shoes without the calories, who could ask for anything more?

Prices start from around £100.

Check out the ASOS sale for cute summer shoes

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on May 20th, 2008

Asos shoes.jpg

We always feel bad on Tuesdays because we bring you some super expensive stuff with Designer Pick of the Week. So we wanted to bring you something equally fabulous but a lot more affordable.

So we hit the ASOS clearance section and found these adorable leather T-bar sandals, on sale for $65.43.

They’re retro, yet modern. The minty green color is our favorite part, but the wooden heel comes in a close second. Pair them with a colorful spring dress or some crisp white pants.
